Last Week of May or June (or Grad Nights vs. Summer!)

So, becoming obsessive about when to go to Disney. I was considering flying in Memorial Day (knowing that will be busy) and spend the week there (departing Friday the 31st). However, it seems there are grad nights 29, 30, 31.

On the other hand, the other option is flying in on June 28th (the first day the AP's are blocked for summer), going through the weekend and leaving in July 2nd.

I don't know what's worse...grad nights or a summer weekend. Will Grad Nights ruin any opportunity to see WOC etc or will the crowds be just as bad that weekend before the 4th of July. I was thinking that since the 4th was on a Thursday most holiday travelers this year would be the weekend after not the weekend before.

What would you do? If not for the Grad Nights I'd probably go in May, but its just me, my wife and our 6 yr old and I'm not sure what to expect from the grad nights.

BTW, I should mention we are very faithful to the be there at rope drop, leave around noon, come back at night kind of folds. But we love Fantasmic, Firewords and WOC and a trip wouldn't be the same without them.

I don't think anyone really knows how grad nites will play out this year in DCA, but here is a thread about last year. I'm also considering a trip Memorial Day week.

Well, FWIW, right now we are planning on going the 27th - 31st of May. We'll miss the Memorial Day crowds and other than Grad Nights should have pretty good luck.
