When are rooms assigned for guarantee rates and online check in advantages.

We booked a 7A Navigator Verandah room on the Dream for the April 4th - 7th back in December, but there were none available at the actual time of booking so I didn't get to pick my room number.

Will we know our room number ahead of time? Today is the day for online check in, but I haven't yet. I'd like to join the Fish Extender group, but don't know what to do if we don't know the stateroom number.

I'm also a Disney addict and want to check out room reports. bahahaaa

Also, is there any advantage to online check in quickly or waiting? Part of me thinks if I wait to check in then they'll run out of rooms and upgrade us.

Your room assignment can come at any time up to and including embarkation day. Generally they come out in the 14-30 day range.

All FE groups I've participated in had one person who volunteered to be a contact onboard for any room changes/assignments. Ask on your meet thread how they are handling it.

Checking in early as possible give you the best choice of the Port Arrival Times. If that doesn't matter to you, you can wait.

Upgrades have no rhyme or reason, first cruise or #10; early booking or late booking; CC status; using a TA or not; it doesn't matter, upgrades are entirely random.

Yeah, the online check in has more to do with getting a boarding time and booking excursions and other reservations. Really no advantage to waiting on that.

The downside to not checking in on line can be a later boarding card number. Checking in or not will not affect your cabin assignment in any way.

They were already out of 7As or nearly so at the time you booked...they are going to upgrade you IF they don't have a 7A for you.

Thanks everybody!

I'll be happy whether we get upgraded or not. I'm hearing that we may actually like the privacy more of a navigator verandah and its our first Disney cruise so I'm sure we'll be too busy to spend too much time there anyway. I was surprised that we couldn't pick the room number because we booked early so just out of curiosity I logged back into DisneyCruise.com to see if the price had gone up. When I got to the part where you can pick the room, several came up! It made me wonder if those were from people that couldn't make the final payment in time.
