Goofy's PJ Party Question

We're sailing the Oct 26, 2013 7-night Bahamas cruise out of Galveston. My DD8 is very excited about the Goofy PJ party. I've been trying to find info about the sleepover but haven't found any posts about the experience. Anyone out there have specifics to share? Thanks!

AFAIK, it isn't really a sleepover. It's just a party in the kids club area that they can attend in PJs.

We are just off the 6night out of Galveston. DD9 says it was cool, but was not a sleepover party. We (my mom and DD1 & DD2) all thought it was a sleepover before the cruise, but it turned out it was Pluto's PJ Party and the kids still had to be out by midnight. She said they had a pretend food fight (cotton balls?) and they played games with Pluto (tried to balance 30 bones on his nose?). It may be different on the longer cruises. Oh, now she's reading over my shoulder and says that on our last cruise (3 years ago) that it WAS a sleepover but who knows...

we were on a 10 day wonder and for that one they had the girls in the lab the boys on the other side. The girls did pj party stuff like like someone who had been a make up person on Hananah Montana's show came and did make up and painted nails of them, then they painted pillow slips. The boys played games like dodge ball and capture the flag on the ship next door. it went until about midnight.

The only real (all night) sleepover I know about was on our WBPC cruise in 2008. There were so few kids, they decided to do one. It was great for the parents onboard.

Did they separate based on age? My DS4 is probably too young for dodge ball and capture the flag.

On a December , 7 night Magic, they also colored some pillowcases provided by the Club and printed with some sort of disney logo.

That is just an activity they do on the longer repo cruises, no matter how many kids there are. They had it on the EBPC in 2008 also, and there were tons more kids than had been on the WBPC.

It has never been an over-night event on any of the 7 night cruises we have been on since 2003.

We did the 1/5/13 5 night out of Miami. the Kids club talked it up on the first night, and my kids talked about if for the next 4 days, then they canceled it "due to time constraints". We expressed disappointment (didnt complain, just asked about and said we were sorry about it) and they ended up sending the activity to our stateroom. It was a pluto pillowcase and fabric markers. My kids were thrilled. We thought the customer service of doing that was awesome. We also got a call telling us that they would be sending us a special gift for the disappointment. But we never got it. We suspect it was stolen along with our FE

Long story short, I think it was just going to be wear pajamas and color a pillow case, but my kids sure thought it was going to be a sleepover!

It is more likely that it was an oversight. If DCL sent you something, it would have been in your room most likely on the bed with a note.

I have 2 opinions
We had tried usual things to keep them away, including something like coyote urine, it is sold in hardware stores by us

They have to be of age to be in the oceaneer's club or the lab. I think it's potty trained 3-12 and they are all mixed together.

I don't believe it's an overnighter, just an hour or so in the late evening. The kids wear their PJs (kind of like pajama day at school) but no sleeping.

You might want to check the Navigators to see when it's offered on the 3-night. I know on our 4-night last winter it was on Pirate Night and conflicted with the fireworks - so your kids may need to make a choice. Just wanted to give that heads up.

Enjoy your cruise!
