Staying at Hyatt MCO - didn't need to select a PAT on checkin

I checked in last night for my cruise. We are staying the night before at the Hyatt at MCO. We booked the room through DCL and when I went to choose a PAT, it said I didn't need one. This must be a new change? I see a lot of people talk about a PAT with their stay at the Hyatt. Or is it just if you book separately and not via DCL? (The price was the same either way which is why I just went with DCL booking.)

Are you staying concierge? If so that is why you didn't need to pick a time.

We are in the same boat. Hyatt MCO and disney bus to port canaveral. We also did not receive a PAT, and from what I can tell, it's because we will be using disney transportation. I have heard "oh, that means they'll let you right on the ship when you get there" but I'm not sure if that's true. Would love to hear some recent experiences with this.

Edit: we are not concierge.

Several people have reported that they have booked the Hyatt and DCL transfers through DCL, and did not have to select a PAT.

I know that previous to this, the boarding number you got at port check in was tied to your PAT, and that those people arriving at the port via DCL transportation were allowed to enter the terminal whenever they got there (but still received the PAT they would have had based on their PAT, regardless of what time it was).

It seems that DCL has now started allowing for those with DCL transfers to be assigned a boarding number based on the scheduled arrival of the DCL busses (they have a pretty good idea of when most busses will arrive at the port).

We stayed at Hyatt MCO night before cruise and took DCL transport to Port Canaveral. Both were booked through DCL.

At check-in, I did not choose a PAT.

We took an early bus to Port, around 9am or so. We were given a Group 2 boarding assignment.

We were Not conceirge. It all worked great.

We also took advantage of the on-line check for return flight home (Delta) and this was another good experience.

I doubt they could let each and every DCL-booked bus person "right on the Ship" when they got to the Port.

We booked the Hyatt MCO through our TA, not DCL and have DCL transfers. We did have to pick a PAT, as tinkmt and Gigi22 did.

When you choose a PAT, is that only letting them know when to expect you? Then do you receive a boarding pass which tells you what time you will get on the ship? We booked our first cruise for this June and there will be 24 of us. We want to be able to board at the same time.

How long ago did you check in? It's possible this is a recent change.
