And you started. I'm having a great time. Must remember my Dramamine next time; but I love the food so far.

You and David look sooooo happy in that picture.

Cool! We probably should've canned when we went out of Tampa. I need to see how much it is to the airport but I think long term parking would be cheaper

Does RC really charge for regular brewed coffee after dinner? That seems pretty nickel and dime-ish! You two look great, though, and like you had oodles of fun.

no, coffee and tea are included, if you want any of the specialty coffee or after dinner coffee with adult beverages added to it, it does cost..

February 26, 2013

Feb 26, 2013

The alarm went off at 7 am, after a really bad night trying to sleep; I was amazed at the wakefulness. We got dressed and headed right up to the gym, if I did not work out first thing in the morning, I might not ever do it. Well first we went to the front of the ship (which is where the gym is on all Celebrity ships), deck 9and then deck10, walking around like we were still asleep, we finally just asked and found out that it was in the back of the ship! So knew it was aft?

So we made our way back to the Solarium (where the Park Café is), into the spa and then up the stairs to the gym, it was packed and crazy and hot. We finally got on two recumbent bikes, and biked away for 40 minutes. We both did pretty well. With our heart rate monitors on, I can tell how many calories I have burned….

From there we headed back to our cabin, I jumped into the shower and David just cooled down, and then cleaned up. We were to meet up with Jim and Marylou, for breakfast, as Diamond members we have our own area, away from everyone else. You have to show your card to get in, Diamonds have the very same menu as everyone else, but we get to eat on Deck 5 starboard side; while all the rest eat on deck 4. Don and Carol joined us after a bit. We were waiting for Bob but he never really showed up. It took us almost 90 minutes to get our food and we were not happy.

David and I both ordered egg beaters, turkey sausage, and tea. See we were trying to be good with our eating, trust me it did not last long. 
I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture until it was too late….

A 10 am we headed back to Boleros bar for trivia. We were expecting progressive trivia, but it was just a general trivia game. It was Jim, Marylou, Bob, Don, David, and I. We came in 2nd place; I think we did better than expected. We did not win anything, but first place got a pen. Yes, a Royal Caribbean ball point pen, with ink it.

I took a picture of the ladies room outside the Bar area.

At 11 am, we were at the Scooner bar for nature and science trivia and again we lost to Denny and his team, the same team who beat us in general trivia. There were some crazy questions there. We did not win a prize, but the winners did win a luggage tag, it was a holographic paper luggage tag, that say Royal Caribbean on it.

After trivia we headed back to the solarium, to the park cafe for a light lunch, I had a cup of vegetable soup a small salad and two slices of roast beef. The place was packed with people who were not eating, but knitting, playing cards, talking, sleeping, all of this but not eating.

I missed taking pictures… I know my peeps are disappointed in this but I think I do better later.

After this light lunch we were to be at the Viking Crown Lounge for the cruise critic meet and mingle which we never got an invitation too; this is the second time, I get the email before we sail, but I never get my paper invitation to the event. But we went and they gave us our raffle prize ticket, and they were serving drinks and small bites, canapés.

Somehow, David got roped into singing a song, that Bob had written

I went into the diamond lounge, the lounge is an area, that you use your card to gain access to and they have canapés all day and you can get specialty coffees and teas there. The machine there makes everything, I think I got a picture later… I know, I know, I was slacking I did get a couple of cappuccino's and an oatmeal cookie.

We left Jim and Marylou there and headed back to the Scooner bar, for the military veterans get together. It was a very touching afternoon, and there were some great tales. There were three there younger than David, which is kind of new for us, when we have done this in the past, David is usually the younger of the people there. I had a glass of wine and met some great people.

We left there and headed to the Starbucks counter and we got a double espresso brownie that we split.

David signed us up for the future cruise desk so we could talk about next February cruise. We could not get in before the last sea day... I can't believe that we have to wait that long.

Then we came back to the cabin, to get my glasses and head up to the Orpheum theater to see "Trouble with the Curve", which we had wanted to see... It turned out to be a great movie that we really enjoyed.

Now back to the cabin to get ready for our first formal night. David and Jim had decided to wear black, white, and black tuxes in order so they would be dressed alike. So David wore black tux with his white shirt and his studs. I wore the navy blue dress, and my silver shoes. I wore my hair down with my diamond necklace and sapphire necklace drop.

This is a view out the Diamond Lounge to the pool area, and where the outside screen is

[Continued from previous post]

We stopped off a few places to get our picture made and then headed off to the Diamond lounge. We joined Jim & Marylou, Don & Carol, Jean & Rod, Bob & Phyllis, tonight we had a few drinks and then met for dinner at 7:30. The veggies and cheese were out and we had a lot of fun in the lounge.

Here are pictures of our table mates…

Dinner

Bay Scallop Gratin – Melted garlic-herb butter and olive breadstick - Brandi

Cesar Salad with Anchovies – David

Traditional Lobster Bisque – Enriched with cream, dry sherry and sautéed lobster pieces – David, he said there was decent sized pieces of lobster in there, I should have taken a picture but I did not…

Roasted Duck – Black currant sauce, sweet red cabbage, and golden potato croquettes – Brandi, the duck was very tender and the skin was very crispy, I did not eat the potatoes, I was trying to watch my fried and starchy foods.

Pan Fried Silver Corvina Fillet – Saffron-infused cauliflower, fondant potatoes, tomato, capers, sultan grapes, and a pine nut relish – David, this was really good, cooked well, flaky, and the cauliflower was so good, I asked the waiter for a plate of it, he brought out a dinner plate full and I shared with the table, but it was really good.

Sugar Free Chocolate Pot De Crème – Rich Chocolate cream with a sugar free cinnamon stick. David – was really good, light, and sweet.

Coffee Ice Cream – David, yummy!

Sky High Lemon Meringue Pie – Lemon curd on a sweet crust topped with baked meringue – Brandi, curd was super sweet and tangy, the rest was ok, so I just eat the curd.

After dinner we headed back to our cabin, we were losing an hour so we wanted to make sure we had plenty of sleep. 7 am will be too early in the morning.

We had a cute towel animal, and some strawberries

Finally in bed by 10:45

So this ship is about the same size as the Magic and the Wonder.

Looks like you had a great day at sea, other than the 90 minute breakfast. The ship looks very nice, classy and spacious. I will enjoy going on a Celebrity Cruise again some day!

This was a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, I am doing Celebrity in November! I like Celebrity so much more than Royal.
