I need some help - I am trying to plan a trip for the fall (Oct. or Nov.)- I have a wish list that I would like accomplished. Now I know it purely a guess but I know the Dis boards are my best shot to get some help. I trying to guess the best date to book for 10 days (thinking of the Aoa)....and I'd like the following....
Free dining (most important) poss twds the end of the offer so I can get it the rest of our stay Nice weather (not too hot) Not Jersey week Osborne lights up (at least a couple of the days) Food & Wine (at least a couple days) Appreciate any help - Id be on cloud 9....

You won't be able to do both Food & Wine and Osbourne Lights together. Food & Wine normally runs from the end of Sept. until the beginning/middle of Nov. and the Osbourne lights start just before Thanksgiving.
As far as weather goes it is nice down here in both Oct & Nov. it is hard to tell you which one is better. The beginning of Oct is still pretty warm/hot but it usually starts cooling down some about the middle of the month. I hope this has helped you at least a little. |

Not necessarily true. This year, food and wine went to nov 12 and the Osborne lights were on starting around nov 8. I saw them myself on nov 12, 2012.
As for jersey week, this past year our trip was much more crowded than I expected because I heard a lot of jersey people postponed their trips because of hurricane sandy. We were there because I was running in the wine and dine race that weekend so we didn't mind the crowds. but it was much more crowded than I've experienced in mid October on a non-holiday/non-jersey weekend and I wouldn't have wanted to be there all week in those crowds for a family trip. I've been in October a few times and the weather had been hotter than some of our August trips (back in 2002) or cooler and cloudy (2007 after a hurricane). I still love Disney in October no matter what weather!

Are you thinking of a suite at AoA or a standard room? The standards have been excluded from virtually all discounts since they opened, so if you really want free dining, you will likely need to stay in a suite or choose a different hotel.

Thanks - I went in Oct-Nov for mnsshp and the xmas party in 2011 we did go to f&w but missed the Osborne lights by one day! Ive been several times for Halloween, so Id really like to see the lights. When is Jersey week for 2013? We'd probably stay @ Aoa in a Cars suite.

The teacher's convention is Thurs 11/7 and Fri 11/8, and Veterans' Day is Monday 11/11.
I would say Jersey Week could be anythime between 11/1 (since the kids will only have 3 days of school that week) and if they have Veteran's Day off as well, it may go through the next weekend.

![]() Touring Plans has the crowd calendar low until the 7th and 8th and then it goes up to 6 and 7. Not too bad in my opinion. Mind you, our last couple of days we always spend at Epcot, so I think we'll be just fine. Jersey Week isn't that bad and if you want to do both the F&W Festival AND the Osborne Lights, you'll have no choice but to go during that week. |
