Travel time to IOA? - The DIS Discussion Forums

We have one day left on our US/IOA tix that we plan to use over Memorial Day weekend. The only other time we've been over there, we stayed at RPR (loved it), but this trip we're staying at Kidani and just driving over for the day. Can anyone tell me the best way to get there--just hit I-4? And how long to expect it to take, door-to-door, for rope drop? TIA!!!!

You're staying at the end of the Disney line so it's gonna take you at least 20 minutes just to get off Disney property with all the traffic. You will need to allow at least an hour to get to the garage and then walk to the IoA gates. I-4 will probably be your best bet.

Just curios, but do all of the US/IOA tickets have the 14 day window from first use? If so, will your tickets still be valid? I would hate to get there and have a nasty surprise if they were no longer valid.

They are the Costco "any 3 days by end of 2013" tix, but thanks for asking. I definitely made sure to read the whole back of the ticket before I paid! LOL!!

WRT the travel time, good info; thanks. About how long does it take to get from the garage over to the gates? Never done that part.

Well...it kind of depends on which level you end up on and how fast you walk. I would say 10-15 minutes to park, get to level three and then head over on the moving sidewalks. If you have some fast walkers in your group, it might be closer to 10 minutes.

Groan....sounds like a major expedition from AKV!! Here's hoping they don't open until 9:00 that day so we don't have to leave the hotel before 7:30! It will be our last day, so we'll be beat by then.
