Can you tip with Disney Gift Card? - The DIS Discussion Forums

I've stocked up on a bunch of Disney gift cards for our trip. When paying for a meal, can I add a tip to the gift card (like with a credit card)? Just want to know if I should plan on extra cash for tipping!

I know you can tip with the Disney Rewards Card. I'm not sure if the "gift card" works the same though.

We haven't used a gc to pay for a meal, but on our last trip we had the DlxDDP so our KTTW card was used for the meal credit and I used a gc for tips.....it worked great

What did you do, tell the server the amount of tip to put on it?

Yes, you can tip with a gift card. You can write the amount of the tip on your reciept and let your server know you want to put it on the gift card.

If you are eating at restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin or Shades of Green you will need cash because they do not accept Disney gift cards.
