Not a Good Morning

Got the phone call my grandma passed away this morning. She has been batteling alzheimer's and the doctor was pretty sure she had colon cancer. She was such a bright spot in my childhood. My family spent at least 1 major holiday a year with her and my my grandpa. She was always cooking for us kids, sewing, or playing games with us. Her and my grandfather were married for over 60 years. I will miss her.

Thank you everyone. I have been blessed by having such amazing grandparents. My dad called this morning and my 4 year old came in an said, "It's ok mommy. I'm still your best friend." Children can help ease a broken heart. I lost my other grandma 3 years ago and I sadly know it doesn't get any easier. We just get better at coping.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm so glad you have wonderful memories, and obviously great kids to hopefully help ease your pain a little bit.
