I have a dream....and it is called a "Grand Villa"....anyone ever stayed in one at AKL or BLT? I think I am going to save like crazy and treat the family to one in a few years. Is there any hope of finding someone who has that many points to rent? My parents took me so many times as a kid (annually) and still refuse to ever let us pay for a meal or anything for them that it would be nice to get an amazing room!!! But my kids are 1 and 3 so much too young to enjoy it....but maybe in a couple of years!......

Im thinking about heading down for a few days (6/26-7/1 or 7/2 depending in flights) and was looking off property. But that sounds not good as my DS would say. How do I figure out the number of points needed if I want to rent DVC? I searched the dVC forum but can't find it and am scared to ask---I've been bashed before over there.
I miss AKL. Can't wait to go back, and October is too far away.

It depends on where you want to stay, what days you want to stay, what type of room and what view.

These are the points charts for DVC. It lists point values per resort, view, and season (check your dates...you would be in Magic season with those dates). Be aware that at this time, there are some things that would definitely be unavailable (club level and value at AKV, some views at BLT, etc.).

The link is only open to DVC members, you have to have a login for it.

For those dates, only Saratago Springs is showing open for the entire time, 208 points.

Checked your dates for you...You have a problem with the beginning of your trip. Jambo and Kidani standard and savanna have issues with the first 2 or 3 days and are avaialable for the next 3. There is no way to combine the categories to get you a room at AKV for the nights of 6/26-6/28.

However, SSR keeps popping up as available for the whole time (208 points).

Not all animals stay on the savannah all night - they go into the barns to sleep & so the handlers/vets can keep an eye on everyone daily. On the Wanyama safari I got to call the pigs in with a bicycle horn - each has been trained to respond to a different "call".

I noticed that - the handlers used different sounding calls at different times, and different animals would go right to the gate. Even though the walk to this room was a hike, I LOVED the view. We could hear the screams from EE from the balcony at times too.
