AKL pools are off limits even to DVC members who are ALLOWED to pool hop!! The rule is you've got to be staying at Jambo or Kidani to use the pools there - period!

Disney could absolutely adopt and enforce a wristband policy! Look at Stormalong Bay at BC/YC/BCV. You can not get in without a room key proving you are staying there.

Stepping off my soapbox now!

totally agree. I guess we should all write letters

Get well soon - and have a blast in FL

They can and they should. And I'll bet they will. Hopefully sooner than later. I've always wondered why BC/YC is the only one w/ wristbands??

First Timers to AKL

Hi guys! I have been reading this thread for days and am getting so excited! My husband and I are taking his brother (Who will be almost 21 at the time) to Disney World over Spring Break March 22-29 of 2014. This is our first time staying at AKL and our first time renting DVC points. Is there anything we should know about the Villas? All three of us are staying in a standard view studio. What is our view most likely to be? Pool? Parking Lot? I don't care, really I'm so excited already. What kind of coffee maker is in the room? Is there a microwave? I can't think of any more questions at the moment but y'all are sure to hear more as we get closer to the trip!

15 days till Kidani!! I'm soooo excited!! The countdown is the only thing keeping me sane right now. My DS(11) is traveling to Cuba on Wed and I'm starting to panic. I know that in 15 days he will be with us heading to the happiest place on earth!! He actually arrives on the 13th!! While he is gone, I'll be packing and making our shirts! I need something to keep me busy!!

I had emergency gall bladder surgery two months before our trip last year. It didn't stop me from any rides, but I did get tired a bit easier. You should be ok.

I'm sorry I haven't gone through all 100+ pages but we are considering a 4 day stay here in Sept.
I don't mind booking Savanna view if we will definitely see animals but has anyone booked SV and still didn't see any? My ds16 is very skeptical.
I'd love to be able to sip my morning coffee on the balcony & watch giraffes & zebras walk by.
We are most likely renting DVC points but can't decide between Jambo & Kidani. Maybe I should ask this specifically on the DVC boards but if anyone has experience on this I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!!

I have stayed in 5 different room on DVC points, and only the pool view did not offer animals every day, morning, afternoon and evening.

They are out there are you can see them and enjoy them, early morning is the best for us, and we enjoyed them.
