using the room key for purchases...rfid privacy questions
How much info can the cashier see when using the rfid enabled room key for purchases on their screen? Will they just see our name, or will age, or date of birth be visible? Will address or any other info be visible?

Wouldn't the RFID just have the same info that was on the magnetic strip? I thought the point of the RFID is so it can be read from a distance not to have other info on it. Why would they need that? They can just use the serial number to look the guest up in the system.
Okay I found the info: "guests who choose to have additional personal information encoded on their bracelet could have digital signage throughout the park interact with them". So it is an optional thing. That sounds great. |

This privacy concern doesn't seem to have anything to do with the RFID technology. All the technology does is provide a unique code to the receiving device. That is exactly what happens when you swipe your KTTW card at a shop.

Let me rephrase my question then: When using the KTTW card at shops and restaurants, what information about you shows up on the cast members screen?

Nothing but your name. And actually, maybe not even that. I have been thanked by my name by CMs, but I just realized that my name is printed on the KTTW. So they could have seen it there.

Not even your resort name? what about if you have the dining plan? Does it show the #of adults an # of kids, or does it show everyone in the party's names also?
Thanks

Nope. A CM that is using your KTTW will not see any of that. They swipe it, the register tells them if it was authorized and then your receipt will specify how many dining credits you have left.

Actually, wouldn't it have to say how many kids and how many adults, since they need to know how to enforce the kids getting kids meals? (btw, this is not the concern of my question since my kids are way above the cutoff and are counted as adults - but just curious)

The resort is printed right on the front of the KTTW card. It's encoded, but CMs can decipher the code.
I think there's also an indicator if you have the dining plan, and which one you have....DDP, DLX, etc. |

No, the CM will not "see" any of that information. Your bill will show how many kids meals and how many adult meals were ordered. When they swipe your KTTW, the system authorizes them and removes the correct amount of adult credits and the correct amount of kids credits. Then your receipt will show how many adult, how many kid, and how many snack credits you have left. There is no screen that shows the CM all this information.
