Parking at grand floridian for dinner

We are going to Narcoossee's for dinner and then wanting to hit the park. We are staying off site. Is it okay to park at the hotel for dinner and the remainder of the evening? Is it expensive to park there? Can I use my day parking pass from MK earlier.

It would be free to park at the hotel for dinner, but the self parking lot is a bit far from the hotel. They do not allow parking for the Magic Kingdom, unless you use the valet which is $15 plus tip.

Since you mentioned that you will have a parking pass from earlier in the day, I would park at the Magic Kingdom lot and take the monorail to the Grand Floridian for dinner, and afterwards to go to the park.

Agreed, totally! Why even move your car from the MK lot when you can just take the monorail over from the park? Done eating? Take the monorail back! This is one of the best parts of getting dinner somewhere in that triumvirate of hotels.

For me it allows a nice change of pace and break from the park without having to really 'leave'.

We're heading back to our off-site hotel (with our vehicle), and then back in time for dinner. So I thought I'd park at the hotel/restaurant instead. Is this just crazy?

If you have already paid to park at MK that day, just hold on to your receipt and after dinner you can return to the MK lot, show your receipt and park for free. Your only other option, if you do not want to drive back to the MK lot, is to pay to valet park at the GF when you arrive for your dinner. You cannot use the regular GF lot for park access. This is not because you are not staying at a Disney hotel, but because you are not staying at the GF.

It is not only crazy, it is totally unfair to the quests paying to stay at the GF hotel who can't find a place to park because the lot is full. The parking lot is simply not big enough for those who want to go to the MK. It is against the rules, and there are signs posted saying that. Disney allows 3 hours to eat/shop etc. You may be given a 3 hour pass. After that you should move your car.
I agree with PP, your best bet is to park at the TTC, using your receipt from earlier, then take the Monorail to the GF. After dinner take the Monorail or boat to the MK. At the end of the night take the Monorail or Ferry back to the TTC.

I've heard tell of cars being towed after the 3 hour pass is up, so I would NOT park in the general lot and then go to the MK.

Your only option would be valet--but as noted that's $15.00 plus tip---

But if you have already paid $14 to park in a theme park parking lot, and now another $15, plus $2-5 for the tip???

It depends on how long the OP's remainder of the evening is. When you dine at a Disney restaurant they give you a 3 hour parking pass. Would that be enough time for you to dine, and see what you want to see in the parks? If not you are better off parking at the TTC and using the monorail or a boat to get to your meal, and then back to the park.

Sounds like if I'm planning to be there for any significant amt of time beyond 2 or 3 hours, to simply park back at MK. Makes sense. Thx for the tips. That's what I'll do.

We have been turned away from Grand Floridian parking on the weekend because of Weddings and the lots are full.

I would just park at MK lot and take the monorail.

You can park @ ticket & transportation center or valet car there for night for $12 plus tip.
