Table service and MNSSHP

Are the table service restaurants open during the party and if not can we make a Reservation before the party and then go to the party after?

Yes and yes. (The usual advice is to not waste party time at a TS restaurant, have an early dinner before the party begins.)

This. We have done the parties before and try and do a super early dinner (4-5pm).

When we did MVMCP we ate at Peco's Bill's and it was empty. We went about 630ish during the party. This year we will be going to MNSSHP and plan on eating there again, hopefully. I agree that I would not waste time eating at a table service during the party (if they offered it, which they dont).

Actually the TS restaurants do have reservation times past 7 PM. If you won't be attending the party, you can't make a reservation after 7. The restaurant will turn you away if you don't have a party ticket.

We went to MNSSHP for the first time last year, and I did not follow the traditional advice to schedule an ADR before the party. Because we usually eat around 7pm, we all thought there was no way we could eat dinner at 5pm. So we had a big lunch and then appetizers in the club lounge (we stayed at CR) before the party. I was fine, but they were all hungry a few hours into the party. They didn't want to use party time to eat, so we got "take out" from Cosmic Ray's shortly before midnight. Not the end of the world, but definitely make that dinner ADR before the party!!

I would also advise not making an ADR for durring the party, but instead make one for before. Last year (our first MNSSHP) we checked in for the party before our 4:30 ADR at The Plaza, which worked out great. It gave us time to sit and relax a little bit after dinner while waiting on line for the 7 Dwarves (we were like the 6th group on line by that time). We got popcorn for the first BTYP and snacked on some (trick or treated) candy durring the second parade. There is just far too much to see and do to give up the time it takes eating at a TS.
