Pirates of the Caribbean ride-where's Blackbeard?

Yesterday we rode the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and no Blackbeard. How long has that feature been missing? I did notice two days ago when we first tried to ride it that it was temporarily closed. When the feature was missing yesterday, we couldn't help but wonder whether it just broke down the day before or if that feature's been missing for a while.

The fog screen effect hasn't been working very reliably for some time now.

I love the effect but it always scares my little ones!
Look for the bell-bottoms in these groovy 1970's Disney Slides we found in Mom's closet.
