simple question. Why B2B?

why do people do B2B? Is it cheaper than doing a longer cruise? Is it because the dates work out better? Just curious if I am missing out on anything.

We've done a few. On our 4/3 Wonder, it was because we couldn't make it to Orlando on Saturday for the Magic departure.

The others were "special" issues like doing the trans-Atlantic and the first Med, or 2 Meds with different ports. Doing a repo cruise + the last cruise before or first cruise after the repo is GREAT.

The down side to B2B is that you'll repeat shows, menus, etc. This is obviously a smaller deal when you are looking at 14 nights + 11 nights. The up side is that dining services contacts you and asks if you need any reservations or have any requests for the second leg. You can do twice as much adult dining, twice as much Castaway Cay, etc. We've also met people who were doing them just to increase their Castaway Club status. If you don't have onboard bookings, you can make twice as many....and you can double your Disney Visa + on line booking credits for this one.

There's no price break doing a B2B. In our case, our B2B was the last Med cruise with the WBTA in 2010. We originally booked the WBTA, but we decided, since we were already paying the airfare to get to Barcelona for the TA, we'd back it up a couple of weeks and add the Med. In essence, we were only paying for adding the Med cruise (no airfare).

For us, a B2B provides a longer cruise and different ports. On DCL it's not cheaper.

It depends. It can be cheaper. We were able to do a 4 night/5 night B2B on the Dream in March for less than a week on the Magic or the Fantasy. We didn't mind the repeat menus as we just ordered different things, or ate at Palo or Remy. We didn't go see any show twice.

We also did a 3/3 B2B on the Wonder because it fit nicely with our 2 1/2 week Florida vacation... first WDW, then post cruise we stayed at Vero Beach and ended with a few nights at Universal Orlando for WWOHP. It was unusual for DH to be able to take that much time off so we did a BIG Florida trip!

As we used the same dining room servers on both our legs (4n and 5n), they treated us to special food items. One night it was chocolate covered strawberries and 2 other nights were plates of coconut shrimp. They also asked if we wanted anything special and they would have gotten it for us. Not sure if they did that with other b2b but our crew was awesome!!!

I would be interested in B2B cruises with different itineraries. I wouldn't be interested in B2B Bahamas cruises.

I did B2B bahamas on the Dream before the Fantasy was about. I don't want to travel across country for just a 3 or 4 night cruise. Having done it. I would not do it again. It was a fun experience once though. B2B seven night cruises... I'd do that in a minute if I could afford it.

Yep. We're tired of the Bahamas so we don't need an "instant repeat" of the same itinerary, same food, same shows all in the same week.

In May we're doing the DCL repo cruise up the Calif coast, bum around Vancouver 3 days, then sailing to Alaska on (gasp) another cruise line. That's our idea of a B2B, with an extra-long "shore excursion" in the middle.

I would do the same for Alaska. Have a great trip!

We really enjoyed our extended visit in Vancouver. There's plenty to see and do.

There is no way I'd B2B a 3 & a 4 night Bahamas cruise. Other more unique cruises, sure, but not that. You waste a day on cruise "turnover" & those cruises are not as relaxed at all. The crowd is different as well.

Now, piggybacking other cruises, sure. Cheaper? Nope.

We did the B2B cause the 3 night cruise was way too short so by adding the 4 day it made it just right !
