Wild African Trek Animal Kingdom?

My DD is in love with elephants and I would love to take her on the Wild African Trek but in all the reviews I've read I've seen no mention of elephants being part of this tour. Has anyone on the tour seen elephants?

My family went in 2011 and we definitely saw elephants. As a matter of fact, the lunch spot overlooks the elephant area. We really enjoyed the tour!

This was an awesome experience. I'm afraid of heights and the suspension bridges were an obstacle for me...but i was proud I overcame them and would do this again in a heartbeat. We did see elephants but I can't remember how close we got. I will say that we pulled to side in the giraffe area and 2 of them got within 4-5 feet of us. Amazing. At the lunch pavilion, there was a rhino directly below our viewing station. Also amazing. Very much worth doing if she loves animals overall. Makes you feel very special.

We went on the standard Backstage Safari tour several times and both times actually got to go into the elephant barn. On one trip we saw the new baby elephant 3 mos old. He was SOOOOOO cute.

We are a really big animal loving family but elephants seem to be all our favorite. I refuse to see the elephants in the zoo because I felt bad for the tiny enclosure and since Philadelphia finally came to their senses the elephants have been relocated to a much better place. We did the safari early in the morning in August a couple times and didn't see one elephant, although had several giraffes who seemed to want to be our tour guide, walking along side of our cars.

The reviews I read seemed to all mention just rhinos, crocs and giraffes. Thank you everyone for letting me know we have a possibility of seeing more. Especially love the idea of having them as our view during lunch!

Yes, I would say one of my favorite parts was watching the elephants whilst eating lunch. It isn't super close, but easy to see them.

The elephants usually take a while to get down to the watering hole. Often on the first few safaris of the day, you don't see any there. You may see one over near mandrills. After 10 is best for them. Also, they are rarely visible late afternoon near closing time

We went in October and we saw the family of elephants - the mother, the adolescent, and the baby.
The tour is amazing.
Enjoy
