Spirit of Aloha

Is it worth it?

How much does it matter where you sit? (Ie, what you pay)

Would a shy five-year-old like it? It will just be my DD and I. I am not sure if she would get up and hula--could I join her?

If you go to the early show, can you stay and watch the fireworks/boat parade at the resort--and if so, where? We're going next month, so they'll be at 8 PM. I want to see them, but really freak in the crowd I think might be at MK for them.

Thanks in advance!

Yes as to fireworks and water parade. Jus go out to the beach, and the music is piped in for the full effect.

Have followed a recent luau thread the last couple of days because we were considering it. Lots of mixed reviews, so Italy be one of things you have to try once. Our DD is 10 and now an "adult," so we are skipping it and the price that came with it. If she was still a "child," we would give it a try.

...and by "Italy" I meant "it may be..." Auto-correct strikes again!

We have been to the luau 3 times and have loved it each time. There are different prices for different categories. We had used the dining plan each year but decided to pay out of pocket instead of with the dining plan. If you have dining plan it takes 2 table service credits and you can only have category 2 or 3. We just paid out of pocket for category 1 instead.

We have never gotten up and did the hula but you certainly can. We have taken my son (first year age 6, the last time age 10) and he would never go up there. My niece also went (age 10) and a friend's daughter (age 11 1/2) and neither of them wanted to do it.

The show is kind of corny but I liked it and we really liked the food. I personally didn't like the dessert but my husband thought it was the best thing ever

Thanks, everyone! Between this and the other thread (which I found after I posted this), I think DD is too young to get our money's worth. Next time!
