Star Wars weekends?

How are the crowds during Star Wars weekends at DHS? I am making plans for my trip now and I have scheduled to go to DHS on Satursday, June 1. I just found out today that that is a Star Wars weekend. Should I change my plans or are the crowds managable?

If you're not intrested in the festivities at all just go on Monday-Thursday.

We were there for the last weekend last year. I had planned to go to Hollywood Studios on that last Saturday because my 2 kids were excited about going. Well, turned out they couldn't of cared less. The crowd that day was manageable I guess. We were able to get fastpasses to TSM and ride it for the first time ever. That said, I am planning our next trip for the exact same timeframe but am making sure not to to to Hollywood Studios that weekend.

You will find that it is busier than the Saturday's before or after. It's still manageble. Obviously the lines for Star Tours and the Jedi Knight Training Academy are going to be long. If you like Star Wars the atmosphere in that side of the park is fun. The rest of WDW is not really affected too much. So if you don't want the "Force to be with you" you might want to go on a weekday.

Having said all that, I'm a Star Trecky and I went on a Star Wars Weekend and it wasn't that bad at all.

Cheers Larry.

If you don't want to partake in the Star Wars festivities I'd avoid it. To see how fun it is, check out my trip report. My family would love to go back!

I agree. We always go but my DS loves Star Wars. If it was not for him we would avoid the park on Star Wars weekends.
