Port arrival and Silver Club Level

We are traveling in April with another family. My window has opened to book port arrival time, excursions, etc. since its our third cruise They however are first time cruisers. Can they checkin with us at the port? Also, can I call Disney Cruise to get them the same port arrival? We are linked together on the site but I cannot activate their activities yet. Kinda strange to me. I don't see the point of being linked together if we can't plan at the same time.

They can arrive at the same time but if their PAT is later than yours and the terminal is full, they will have to wait outside. Once inside, they can check-in but will be assigned a boarding number based on their PAT. So they may not be able to board with you if they have a later boarding number.

When you do your online checkin, you will select your Port Arrival Time. You will not be able to select a PAT for them. When their window opens, they will select their PAT during their online checkin.

The link is just so DCL knows to place both parties together for dining. Not for booking anything.

Earlier booking perks come with your CC status. There would be no benefits to these if a guest can book/select PAT for those room in the party who are not eligible for those benefits at that time.

DCL suggests, if you wish to check in at the port and/or board together, and you have different PATs, you all arrive at the later time. I will point out that your PAT is tied to your actual boarding number you get when you check in at the port.

Our last cruise, we (Gold) had an earlier PAT then the rest of our party (2 rooms - both first timers). We waited when we got to the port for them to arrive, since their PAT was later than ours. When we all checked in, our boarding number was #6 while theirs was #9. Since we were already at Open Boarding, it didn't really make any difference.

You can plan, board, and do everything else with your friends...you just have to do it when their window opens.

Alternatively, you can book the stuff you want now and hope to be able to add them later. If not, you can choose to cancel what you got.

OK, reality--you will probably be able to enter the terminal together. Each cabin gets a boarding pass, you are welcome to wait and board when the latest number is called (or at open boarding.) No, if the other family has a higher number, they are not normally allowed to board earlier with friends.

Bottom line--you earned the silver status; they didn't. It isn't fair to all the other silvers to allow your friends to effectively jump the line to board with you. I can't wait in the concierge area or go to the concierge lounge unless I paid for a concierge cabin. I can't go to the gold/platinum reception unless I am in a gold or platinum cabin. It is the same thing--you get the perks that you have either earned or paid for. You don't get them because your friend earned or paid for them.

Makes sense with being fair. We will just try our best when their window opens. Mainly need a stingray excursion for CC for both our boys. I have one already booked. They will try for one when their window opens. If they can't we will just cancel ours. I think boarding won't be a problem. Thanks!!

I don't think you'll have any trouble booking the stingrays at CC. We are first-timers, during President's Week on the Fantasy, and we didn't book immediately when we were finally allowed to, and we had no trouble. In fact I think it might still be available. Good luck!

I have similar question: my DD and I are Silver and my aunt is a first timer....but she is sharing our cabin. I am the one who booked the cruise as a Silver. Since she is actually in the same cabin as us, will I be able to do her online checkin and any bookings at the same time that we do ours?

Yes, the entire stateroom is open for checkin and excursions at the same time. Since you are silver, it will open at that time.
