Art of Animation - Little Mermaid

Hi. We are looking at planning a trip to Disney in September. We have stayed at Pop Century and All Star Sports Resort. We were considering Staying at Art of Animation in the Little Mermaid standard rooms. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these rooms are "girly"? We have a 7 year old son. Also, is the walk from the rooms to the bus stop really far?
Thanks!

I think the walk depends on the person. I don't think the walk is far at all, but other people do. I'm healthy, but I only run if someone is chasing me - it's not like I enjoy walking unnecessary amounts

I think the rooms are girly. You can check out pictures on the AoA thread of the rooms interior to verify for yourself.

Not really girly, more under the sea-ish. With fish, and seahorses, and star fish. Things like that.

We are staying with my 2 boys in 5 days. I don't like that they picked this wing to be the one for standard rooms. We were wondering the same thig as you. Then we saw all the pics and didn't thing it was girly. So, we decided to book. My only concern now if that my 4 t.o. is terrified of Ursula! Really don't like that this wing was excluded for all promotions too.

We stayed there this past September. There were 3 boys 9, 5, and 3 in our party and they didn't find it too girly. We didn't think the walk was bad either.

Little Mermaid rooms don't get discounted simply because they have to be. Way too much demand for them!!!
The walk is longish....but there is a lot to look at as you walk, so it's not all that bad.
I don't think the rooms are hugely 'girly'. They are more under-the-sea. Boys shouldn't be put off by it all that much. Prince Eric is there, well represented.
