Nassau til 2 a.m.
I searched to see if anyone had posted about this but couldn't find anything. Hope I'm not duplicating if someone has!
We just came off the Dream 1/6 (and 1/10 DVC Member Cruise) and our stay at Nassau was until 2 a.m. I can't imagine what people find to do in that port but drink until that time but it sure was nice enjoying our Palo dinner with the ship still in port!

They sometimes stay in Nassau later so the crew can get some shore time. Its completely random when it happens.

On our cruise this past June, the ship stayed in port until 1 a.m. It really didn't affect us as we got off only for a few hours but I'm sure others and the crew enjoyed it.

This happens at a couple of ports, the one that I've experienced was Key West. Stayed there twice until 2 AM. This is typically a reward to the crew and gives them a chance to get off the ship and have some fun.
I assume that they do this at ports that 1, will allow the change in schedule, and 2. are close enough to the next port that it doesn't effect the arrival schedule.

I think it would be fun to see the port of call at night

It kind of is. I was very much hoping we'd stay late last year in Key West, so that we could take in some of the late night life, but alas we left on time!

We were in Costa Maya until 1am this past October on the Fantasy. This is a common one, I expect, since it's so close to Cozumel.

Did you know ahead of the cruise that you'd be staying late or did you find out when you got to port?

This has happened to me on two cruises last year. On our August Dream cruise we stayed in Nassau until 2am and then on the Fantasy last month (Dec) we stayed in Costa Maya until 1am.
I don't recall finding out until we received our Navigators (so the night before). Our Dream server mentioned it was due to their excellent survey results and a way to thank the CM's. He seemed to give us the impression it didn't happen too often but it appears based on others experiences and mine last month, it does ![]() Heather

We were thrilled when we heard that we were staying in Nassau till 1 or 2 a.m. on our last cruise. We didn't spend any time in town in Nassau, but we did get off the ship at night so we can see the beauty of the Dream at night time. We got some good photos and video of her. The best part is seeing all the lights from the ship shimmering and reflecting on the water. That was one of the best parts of the trip.

I have to agree, it is pretty cool to stay in port later. The overnights in San Francisco and Barcelona were really neat too. I wish they could do that more often in other ports so that we could take in a little of the local nightlife.
