Looking for teenage perspective on Vibe

Thanks for this reply. We will urge her to participate on the first night, and after that we'll see what she prefers. Perhaps she will meet some like-minded kids and hang out with them, but if not I know she will also be happy reading by the pool and going to movies. Thanks again!

I have gone to vibe and would deffinitly recommend going to the ice breaker activity. I am naturally shy, but have never had problems making friends. I still talk to my friend from a cruise two years ago. My friends and I just wanted to hang out at vibe. If someone didn't want to hand out at vibe you could just use the wave phones to meet up.

What was your favorite activity in the vibe? Not sure if my nephew is into dancing.

Seriously, nothing good can happen to teens running around at 2AM, even on a Disney ships.

I have to agree with this. Plus I would think the kids would either be sleeping the next day away or very grumpy.

There are activities in the Edge until 1 a.m. and the Vibe until 2 a.m. some nights. If my child wants to participate in them on vacation, and I do trust him to stay at the club and not just roam the ship at that hour, then getting up to go on an excursion the next day is part of his choice.

I agree with this
My daughter always came back to the cabin after 2. The kids just hang out and chat and get to know one another. She was never reckless nor disrespectful of the other passengers. I think one has to know their children.

No matter how late she came in, it was easy for her to get up for an excursion and then nap later in the afternoon.

I trust my nephew, he is a great kid. He makes good choices. Thankfully we are most likely not doing excursions. So if he misses breakfast, no harm done.

Thanks much! I just showed this to my 15 y.o. She now is as excited to cruise as I am. Until seeing this video she was a bit worried about having to spend a week hanging with "her parents".

Back from our cruise and DS14 was able to go to either the Edge or Vibe. When we checked out the space the YC told him to change his KTTW card to a Vibe card, which allowed him access to the club, but he could still have an Edge sticker on it, which allowed him in the Edge also. He went to both open houses the first evening held at different times. He did not end up liking the Vibe as much because most of the kids were 16 & 17 and he didn't feel like he fit in there. He did like the space better at the Vibe, however.

My DS13 had the same experience. I was able to sign a waiver for her to attend Vibe. She and a 14 year old friend preferred the facilities at Vibe to Edge. They attended the first night planning session and went once or twice to the sun deck and other activities but realized by day 2 that they were more comfortable in Edge where they had some other friends. There were many 17 year old boys in Vibe so they weren't that comfortable there. I think it depends on the cruise and your kid. I am glad we gave her the option to experience both and make an informed choice, otherwise, she may have felt that she "missed out" on something.

Interesting they allowed that on your cruise. They said absolutely no 13 yos would go to Vibe and no 10 yos to Edge on our cruise the week before. Saw some of both told no when we were in each club during open house.

I think it varies from cruise to cruise. Concierge staff told my DD that it was possible to sign a waiver and we went with her to Vibe. They did ask her when she turns 14 (May). We heard them turn another kid away who was a younger 13 and who did not have a parent there to sign the waiver. I think it also helped that we had already gone to Edge (had the sticker on the KTTW card to show it) so she could say she had checked it out. They issued her a Vibe card and told her to get an Edge sticker so she could do both. Turns out she never got a new Edge sticker but it wasn't a problem.
