When do the Osbourne lights go up each year? Planning trip for week before Thanksgiv.

My family and I are planning a trip for Nov. 20-27 and we would like to know what Christmas decorations will be up during our stay. We are leaving the day before Thanksgiving to avoid the crowds.

I know the Christmas party will be available and the Magic Kingdom decorations will be up. I'm also aware that Epcot doesn't start the candlelight procession until after Thanksgiving. I'm hoping the Animal Kingdom decorations and the Osbourne lights will be up during our stay. Does anyone know about this or has anyone been to Disney during this week of the year that can give me advice?

I believe the switch is flipped during the weekend that concludes Wine & Dine, which was November 9th and 10th this year. I was there for the marathon and got to experience both Wine and Dine and Christmas/Osborne.

Osborne lights have started around November 9 or 10. That won't be a problem.

MK will be fully decorated (except for the big Christmas tree) because of the Christmas parties.

Epcot will have the tree up but Holidays Around the World presentations will not begin until the day after Thanksgiving.

We were there Nov 7-14 and also had the same wish - to see the lights!
We were pretty hopeful that we would see them because the first MVMCP was during our week. Also, on the park hours calendar, HS showed closing at 4pm the day before the first party date.....sure enough, lights went on the next night.

If you will be there around Thanksgiving, I think you can be pretty sure those lights will be shining (and they are worth seeing).

When are the parks completely decorated? I want to go Nov 9th this year and want to make sure my family gets to see the castle lite up and the trees at all the parks. I would like to see the gingerbread house, but not sure if 11/9-16th is too soon to see all this.

MK has a quick conversion after MNSSHP to startup MVMCP, so you should see most of MK.
(Most because the MK tree is not installed until after the Christmas parade is taped in early December)

Osborne lights may or may not be running that early in November.

EPCOT will still be 100% F&W. in general EPCOT and all of the resorts get their decorations the week before Thanksgiving week. It's fun to come back to a normal resort, and wake up and see your resorts lobby decorated
