For our WDW stay - we have 2 rooms @ POR.
After that we are off to Wyndham Bonnet Creek in a 3 bedroom (See sig for details on our family) We also looked at 2 bedroom villas at WDW - too $$$ for us now. With the ages of the family you are asking about, maybe try the treehouse villas??? We have never stayed there but I want to try it out when our kids are bigger - it looks so cool!!! Many people recommend renting DVC points as well.

We are trying out the new suites at Art of Animation this trip. Previously stayed at POR with 3 kids plus an infant. It was way too crowded and a wanted a separate door we could shut for the now toddler to take naps.

My family says at the Cabins at Ft Wilderness. The cabins sleep 6 and the bedroom has a door you can close so that the 2 year old can nap without noise.

I have 5 kiddos- 11,9,8 6 & 5. We are staying at Old Key West. I love it because it has a kitchen and plenty of room! Plus it sleeps 9.

We are a family of 9. 2 adults and 7 kids. We stay at either a value with connecting rooms or camp. We are planning our family trip for christmas and are going to camp out. If we decide not to do the DP we might switch to value.

We are a family of 6 (4 kids ages 16, 9, 7 and 4). On our next trip we are staying in 2 rooms at POR. We have also considered 2 rooms in a value to cut spending a little.

In the past, I have stayed at Old Key West with my DH's family, which was 7 people total. It was awesome! There was so much room and a big kitchen.
We are staying at the Treehouse Villas this year for the first time now that we've started our own family and there will be 5 of us. I'm excited to see how it compares to Old Key West

We are going as a family of 7. 4 adults, 3 kids. We rented a 3bedroom/3 bathroom townhouse with a private pool at Windsor Hills Resort, which is right outside Disney property. We didn't like the prices of the on-site choices in relation to what we wanted privacy wise.

Silver Lake Resort (through Armed Forces Vacation Club)
Pop Century - 2 connecting rooms Rented a house with a pool in Indian Creek - 5BR/4Ba gave each of my boys their own room and they loved the gameroom. Great option for us this past summer because my boys are older - 17, 15, 11 & 6.

Two rooms at a value resort cost less than a suite or cabin, and have two bathrooms!
