Nikon 1 J3
Look at the Nikon 1 J3 with the 10-30 and 30-110 Nikor lenses. Any one have one or used one? I have a D7000 now and would like something a little more compact to add to my bag.
Thanks Kevin

Full disclosure here - I am not anything near a professional, I don't even consider myself a super talented amateur. I have been using SLR/DSLR for 30 years or so, and know my way around a camera, I am just not ultra serious about it. That being said...
I have the J2, looks like there's not a huge difference, with the 30-110. I'm pretty pleased with it, like you I wanted something more compact to add to my D5000. My daughter and I both enjoy some of the in camera effects (the tilt shift and... soft, I think they call it, gives a nice Orton-like effect, are our faves) and I can say for sure that it's most certainly nice to carry something that much lighter than my usual gear. I was particularly impressed with results in low light. Hardest thing about it for me is that there is no optical viewfinder - first month or so I was constantly slapping my face up to the thing forgetting that I had to use the screen. Plus, as a chick anyway, the option to have something besides black or silver was pretty cool, and I adore the old school snap on leather case they have available.
