No, it's not cheaper and you are restricted to have meals in certain restaurants

We used them on our first trip and I haven't bothered since. As Isilia says, you're restricted to the restaurants in your chosen category which we don't like. You can use them at face value in other restaurants but then there's definitely no saving. Plus you might not necessarily fancy a full buffet or table service meal every day.

I'm with the others. I don't think there's any real savings these days, the only advantage is that you've budgeted in advance for your meals.

on my last trip i actually sat down and worked it out and the saving was so minimal. on a seven night stay i was only saving about four euro.

i prefer to just eat what i want and where i want. the only reason i would suggest buying them is if you like to have the food paid off in advance and not worry about it while there.

You could always put the cost of the vouchers money aside as if you'd bought them and then that money would be budgeted for the trip but you are free to eat what and where you want when you want

I've decided against buying food vouchers before I go. I'm going to assign a set amount of money out of my budget for food. I worked it out last night and it might work out cheaper to buy when I'm there anyway!

we went for the half board vouchers so we knew the majority of food was already paid for. Did consider not getting them and just putting the same amount of money aside but knew that the money was very likely to end up getting spent on other things so this way it meant we couldn't spend it and knew it was covered
