There's really only a few table service places to go here, but if you're looking for something that specifically may be fun for the kids, I would probably go with the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. The inside is designed so that you look like you're at a drive-in movie. They show clips of old sci-fi movies- nothing that should be too scary for the kids. My uncle has been taking my cousins there for years, even when they were younger.

50's Prime Time has great theming too- done up to look like a 50's kitchen with similarly themed food and wait staff- but I think the other will have a higher fun factor for kids as young as yours.

I agree with the PP...50s or Sci Fi would be good choices. I wouldn't recommend Hollywood Brown Derby. We went there on our most recent trip and it was a let-down. It is a very adult atmosphere, although there were many kids of many ages there...but that wasn't the disappointment. It was a very expensive meal for very mediocre food.

I have only been to 50's Prime Time which was good but do not overlook Pizza Planet... it is a family favorite! Doc may be a character at Hollywood and Vine so I would make the reservation and stay tuned to see what characters will be there. I have heard the food is bad though.

I love scifi. Our meals were always yummy. We always had a good experience there with both food and service. Plus the atmosphere is awesome!

We always do the character buffet lunch at Hollywood and Vine. It's a buffet with a huge variety of food, which we love because everyone gets what they want. In March they had Jake, Oso, Handy Manny and a couple Little Einsteins coming around to greet the kids, plus they have the kids participate in a "parade" around the restaurant, little dance numbers, and so forth.

I have to say we've eaten at all the table service restaurants at HS and none of the have been great and none have been terrible. For a kid, defintely Sci-Fi or 50's if you are going no character. If you want characters then hollywood and vine.

For your kids age I agree that Sci Fi would be fun. Food is pretty good too. 50s is good but I think the antics would go over your kids heads!! The food at MMs is good but there is nothing to entertain the kids! Have fun!!
