What a bummer, OP! So sorry. You've reinforced my thinking about January, though. Every once in a while I consider going then, because I know it is such a low crowd time.

Then I remember our trip in 2007, when three of the six of us ended up sick - one in Urgent Care, one in the hotel room for three days straight, and a baby who threw up all over me at DHS. Never again in January!

So sorry for your illnesses and early departure. Hope recovery is quick. Bronchitis is nasty and it takes awhile to get back your strength. My 81-yo mom was hospitalized a few weeks before Xmas with that, and she's still not completely got her breath back. And I have heard this year's Flu is nasty. I got my shot, but who knows? Take care and try WDW again soon!

This is worrying me..I hope it'll be gone by Feb. Don't really want to have to take a flu shot.

Flu, you have 29 days to go away! >:-(

Something worth researching -- Whether pure oxygen would help a child with pneumonia or bronchitis not have to continuously gasp for breath.

I think that Disney has on a case by case basis allowed ill guests to postpone the balance of their vacations at no extra charge. However no additional days could be added to the park tickets either on the spot or upon return.
Last Disney trip: December 2010.
Forget super sized fries. The Washington Redskins can promote healthy eating with First Lady Obama by adopting the (red skinned) turnip as their mascot.

Sounds like me with those Airborn pills! I've been maxing those suckers out, 3x a day!

Anytime you go any place (not just disney) with a large amount of people you have a greater chance to pick something up.

Not to mention there is a BAD flu going around that the flu shot isn't protecting people against.

Actually, all the news reports are saying that this year's vaccine is very well matched to the strain of flu going around.

But there are all sorts of other bugs going around. I had a flu shot, but got a bad case of bronchitis on our departure day back in December. I was sick for the next 10 days.

I hope your husband is feeling better soon. It is a bad flu year. My brother in law is in ICU from the flu, but it seems that he'll survive (yesterday they weren't sure). On the news they said the flu shot is 60% effective against influenza but that if you get the shot and then get the flu, it will be less severe.

On our Dec. 2010 trip on our last day I started feeling miserable, and our flight home was excruciating. turned out I had double ear infections and bronchitis. I think with all the people from all over the world at Disney, there are going to be germs and viruses you've never before been exposed to, therefore a better likelihood of getting sick.
