Rib out of place

Am seeing a chiropractor tomorrow. What can I expect? I've never been to see one before. Am hurting and looking forward to pain relief but nervous about the process.

That happened to me once, after my uncle gave me a great big bear hug! I went to the chiropractor later that day and it just took him a minute to adjust it back to place, he could tell right away what the problem was - I guess he had done it before. Instantly back to normal!

well I just wanna wish you a speedy heal...Was there a reason you went with a general chiro rather than an orthopedist that specializes in body/rib area.
Is it already diagnosed as muscular (Not a crack/Xray taken), or ligament or other issue? some people choose chiros...but its not something Id ever do nor would I recommend it...its personal....
Hope it works out well and you are feeling better very soon!

I went to a chiropractor because I was pretty certain it is not muscular and not a broken rib. He diagnosed it as a subluxed rib after examining me today. Took X-rays and said he will reduce it tomorrow after reviewing the X-rays. Based on how it feels, I think he is right.

Just got my displaced rib adjusted today
I have a great Chiropractor and wouldn't handle it any other way.

to both!

There's nothing to putting a rib back into place. I'm 47 and I've been going to a chiro since I was 14. It is very common and hurts. This can happen for lots of reasons. If you ever have any type of respiratory trouble with lots of coughing, it can happen from the coughing and be quite painful.

Also, because a woman wears a bra, it can happen because of coughing, sneezing etc.

Saw the chiropractor this morning. The rib was corrected and remained stable for a whopping 2hours.

I was on a TENS unit for about 15 minutes, had a therapeutics massage then had my cervical spine adjusted. Tried to adjust my thoracic spine but unsuccessful...too stiff?

Now I am very sore. I feel like I've been beaten. Is it normal to hurt after an adjustment? How about after a massage? Of course the rib is painful. But I feel sore all through my thorax.
