Collegiate Cheerleading/National Dance Team Championships

Just realized that its this coming 1/18-1/20

We arrive on 1/19 staying at Pop

Anyone have any idea what to expecton our first nite? Didn't know if Pop tends to fill up with participants first as its the closest hotel to the sports complex?

Not really overly concerned as we expect things will get back to normal Sunday evening, at least as normal as possible with the long MLK weekend, since kids have to get back to college - we hope!

I also saw cheerleading competitions for 4/27-4/28 and 5/3-5/7 (may not be exact). I have seen on here where people post which resort they might be staying. Is there a way to find this out. I am inthe processing of booking my spring trip around that time at Caribbean Beach. I just hate getting there and seeing the big white tents set up in the parking lot and the pools are really crowded. If anyone knows I would appreciate any info. Thanks!

Where did you see this? Those are our dates for POR. Does anyone know where these groups stay? If we knew where you got the info perhaps we could go directly to their website to look for information? Now I am nervous!

I am going with our College Dance team from 1/17-1/22 and I have gone for the past 5 years We were assigned All Star Music. But the competition seems to take over most of the All Star resorts. I would change if I were you. There is a ton of cheerleading and dancing go on everywhere around the resort and the bus lines are horrible!

Oh no. We're at ASMu 1/15th through 1/21st...I was already nervous because it's our first stay at a value ever...now I'm petrified!

We get in on the 15th too. We leave on the 19th, so I'm hoping it won't be too bad. Who knows, it could be entertaining! This is our first stay at ASMu, we normally stay at Pop. All we can do it hope for the best!

A large group of cheerleaders stayed at CBR when we were at WDW at the end of April beginning of May in 2011. Our ME stopped to pick them up on the way to the airport. It drove into the resort to pick them up outside of a tented area. It looked like a big deal at the CBR.

The college cheerleaders stay at the All Stars. The high school cheer nationals are Feb. 9-10. They stay at All Stars (usually ASSP and ASMU) and CBR.

The college my DBF's works at is staying at All Star Sports and I think the weekend is going to be busy! I'm a CM and just looking on my CM site which has nothing to do with rack rate rooms but you can typically get most room categories but for that weekend of CM rates we can't get any values and no Mods except 2 room categories at CBR...but like I said thats only for CM reserved room rates but for our room discounts it's going to be busy!! DBF and I are staying two nights at POFQ next weekend...not to mention it's a holiday weekend too. The school I teach at is off Monday the 21st.

Those are our dates and I am concerned as well. We are staying at the Contemporary but I found this, it looks as if they will be at Epcot in the ESPN world of sports arena so I'd steer clear of Epcot on 4/27 and 4/28. Also, it looks like they are staying in All Star Sports

We will be arriving 2/9 at Sports and I just realized that this competition will be "in progress." I am a little worried about crowd levels and noise at the resort. Since it ends on the 10th, I am hopeful we will only have to deal with them for a day or so... I hope that I have a room when I arrive on the 9th as I hear all values and moderates are sold out.

Just make sure that you have your confirmation number and you should be fine. Most teams go down a couple of days before and leave by Tuesday. It should be quiet during the evenings as most teams have curfew the night before they compete. There will probably be teams practicing on the grassy areas around the football section so you may want to avoid that section. The pool usually gets some use after the competition ends. I have a DD that cheers and have stayed there many times during this competition. The food court will be full very early in the morning just give yourself plenty of time.
