I'm just trying to eat at the castle

not buy it.

I called to find out the current breakfast prices and was told $53.29 for adults. When I first heard it, I had to repeat it back to the CM to make sure I heard her right the first time. She asked if I wanted to book there, and I said, no thanks, that's way too pricey.

It's not a matter of being able to afford it but I have my limits on value. If it was a Michelin rated restaurant, okay, maybe I can justify it.

We had breakfast there once upon a time in 1998 and the price was up there even then but not unreasonable.

Maybe we'll eat there again one day, when we win the lottery or when pigs fly, whichever comes first.

Apparently it has that kind of value for some guests, as some are still unable to get a reservation there. Disney will charge that as long as enough guests pay it.

Best way to eat at the castle is to bring in snacks and stand in the underneath part. That's the only way i would eat in the castle. Great comment, BTW.

It is definitely pricey enough to be a "very special occasion" place for us. We have been twice - Christmas Eve and DD's 10th birthday. Of course, 10 year olds are adults, too, to rub salt in the wound. The first time, we used dinning credits, but it was right at $200 for the three of us to have dinner the second time.

I love the title! So true!

I guess people are paying that price if they can charge it. Maybe they will have to lower their price now that BOG dinner is a much less expensive "castle" option....although they don't do breakfast. I'm sure the die-hards will still pay a lot to eat at the castle but $53 for breakfast is just ridiculous.

They're also paying for the face time with the princesses (which you don't get at BOG). If you're good on princesses without the iconic castle, Akershus is also a less expensive alternative. Just Cinderella, there's 1900 Park Fare. Value is pretty subjective at least for this place. I haven't been there since 2005 and wouldn't pay for it now. I see others on the board who eat there every time they visit (sometimes more than once).

I agree that it's pricey, but we are paying it in April (again). It's the only place that DD8 asked for for her birthday. But yeah, $175 for breakfast...

It is pricy, but people are obviously willing to pay that price. The demand is there and the supply is limited.

Now that is one place that will never see another dime of my money.

Just horrible.

I don't think people go to Disney for value. Period. We've done CRT 3 times. Twice have been for breakfast and we used dining credits both times. I find it well worth 2 dining credits. The lobster & crab crepes were very good and being inside the castle before park opening (plus having my daughter named Princess of the Day) was priceless.

As everyone knows everything at Disney is overpriced but yes...$53 for breakfast is insane! Maybe if it was all you can drink Bloody Mary's or Mimosa's with the meal
