LOL oh please...

ND has the #1 recruiting class coming in along with a team that returns a great majority of its talent including a red shirt freshman QB. You'll be seeing a lot more of ND in the future. Better get use to it.

Congratulations to Alabama! You dominated ND and showed who deserved the number 1 ranking. Alabama is not my team but I love SEC football. Seven straight championships prove that we are playing the best football. Maybe one of my teams will get there next year.

Was anyone else creeped out be Brent Musburger's comments about AJ McCarron's girlfriend? She is beautiful but he seemed a little too impressed by her. I guess anything to distract his disappointment in the way Alabama was dominating.

I think he was more interested in AJ's mom.

Too bad last night was about who was the better team last night. No one has said ND was a "one shot wonder". They got their tails handed to them. Period.
Bama has a bunch of stars (including McCarron and at least one if not both RB) returning next year.

Congrats Bama!

Same here!! This just proves that the SEC is a whole other level of football!! I think the results would have been the same if ND had played LSU, A&M and maybe a few other SEC teams (except for my beloved AU Tigers)!!

Exactly they simply did not deserve to be in that game. What happens next year is an all new issue. I still believe the reason they were in that game was a lot of extra points just for the media value of the their name

Not at all surprised at the outcome. The media darlings fell waaaay short, so shocked.

Go SEC!

And yes I thought Musburger was being a dirty, old man. We aren't the only ones. Just Google Brent Musburger.

But didn't the coaches poll factor into the ranking to? Along with strength of schedule, etc, etc, etc?

1/3 Coaches Poll, 1/3 Harris Interactive poll and 1/3 the average of 6 computer rankings.

Computer rankings clearly showed that Notre Dame didn't belong there. I have always liked the Irish, but the fact remains that they were not the top team in the country this year. They were't even second best. In fact, I'd wager that if they were in the SEC, they would have had at least 3 losses and possibly more depending on which division they were in and who they played from the other division. Notre Dame is clearly on the upswing, but they aren't there yet and everyone I know who closely follows college football agreed prior to the game.

The two charts I just googled shows Notre Dame #1 in all 6 of the computer rankings. Here's 1: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/rankings/bcs.
Are the computer polls influenced by the media?
