I'm 41. Steve Miller was largely before my time (know all the songs, but same is true of a lot of 60s/70s artists) and Pat Benetar hit when I was in middle school. People in their 30s are going to consider these "oldies" acts--they're squarely aimed at people in their 40s and 50s.

The only one I'd call "greatly unknown" is Austin Mahone. The rest receive heavy radio airplay in their respective genres.

I would definitely agree that they SO FAR don't have the "oldies" acts, as in 70'd disco/Osmond type acts which they usually do, but there are still some open slots, so it isn't impossible they will add one or two. I would agree that this is a decent mix, enough to make me wish I live a little closer so I could talk my husband into driving the 1-1/2 hours at least every couple weeks instead of once a month or so. We will DEFINITELY be there for Demi, my dd turns 15 the following week and loves Demi's music, and dh only listens to "classic rock" by choice, so he is looking forward to Pat Benatar and trying to talk me into Steve Miller too. I would LOVE to go over for Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, and Pitbull too. DD12 is also excited for Demi, and would agree with me on Matchbox 20 and Pitbull anyway, not sure she is as familiar with Lifehouse. The only way to make her happier would be to add a slot for the band she likes to call her future husbands, 1 Direction. There are definitely other bands we all like and would love to see added, but considering the Strawberry festival is going on at the same time and is HEAVILY geared to the country music market, and Garden at Disney tends to be geared towards "classic rock/pop" type, that this is much MORE geared to a younger/more current audience doesn't really surprise.

Nope, not going to any of these. Give me current rock bands (the oldies are fine, but some of them sound bad nowadays).

I'm excited for All American Rejects for my birthday weekend! :D

I always enjoy the parade and it's a great way to pass the time until HHN starts up again.

I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread with this question, but it's somewhat related. I heard that the concerts at Universal are standing room only with no seating at all provided - is this accurate?

How busy does it get the night of the concert? Should we plan to be there early? We have never been to these events at Universal and we will be there during that time. We are missing Demi Levato by a couple of days so Montgomery Gentry is the event we will be able to see.

That's a pretty fluffy lineup. Also, maybe I'm a traditionalist but where is the Jazz and Blues?

Headliner concerts usually bring in lots of people so around 3pm or so, the Studios will start to get crowded. If you're going to be in the Studios earlier in the day, you have nothing to worry about but if not, you should plan to be there around 4:00pm before it gets really crowded. MG will bring in a lot of fans so expect large crowds for the concert that night.

The smaller bands that usually play more New Orleans style music play in the French Quarter courtyard earlier before the headliners play at the Universal Music Plaza.
