pirate night
I'm sure that buried somewhere in all this great information is the answer to my question, but I can't seem to find it. On the Fantasy Eastern when is Pirate Night, and for a family of 3 adults would this be the best night for Palo?

Best in terms of what?
Getting away from the families dressed as pirates? Getting away from kids whacking everything with a sword? Or best in terms of enjoying a semi-normal evening dinner in a relaxed manner? I don't know if PALO or Remy change their menu for Pirate night, but I'm guess that they keep the fake dreadlocks and Jack Sparrow wannabe's out with their dress codes. |

best. . .
Best in terms of not missing anything great in the dining room. I know pirate night is fun. Been there, done that when DD was 11. Now she's 19, so we don't feel so much of a need to be in the middle of the pirate night action in the dining room. Party later--we will be there. Also best in terms of dining room menus.

I would definitely recommend Palo on Pirate Night. The easiest way to determine when that is -- go into your online activities reservations and see which day the Pirate's League has signups. The rest of the cruise, the Fantasy has the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, but in Pirate's Day they have pirate's make-overs.

I know that would be the easiest way but we haven't paid in full yet so that info is not available to me. I was hoping someone could clue me in on the regularly scheduled evening for pirate night.

Pirate night on the Eastern for us was the fourth night, we were itinerary A. If your itinerary is different, the best guess is the first night of two back to back port days because the ship is sailing slower.
Our itinerary was S. Embark S. At sea M. At sea T. St. Maarten (pirate night) W. St. Thomas T. At sea F. CC |

I'm on the 2/9 sailing of the Fantasy (Eastern-Itinerary B) and it's showing up on day 4 which is the St. Thomas day. As far as what's the best day for Palo, that's kind of subjective. If you have no interest in the pirate themed evening, then that is probably the best night.

We are also planning on dining at Palo on Pirate night when we are on our Eastern Caribbean cruise. I love the theming of Pirate's night, I just don't care for the menu. That is one I know I can live without. So we are planning on going to the earliest seating we can at Palo and then changing afterwards into our pirate gear with our kids for pictures, etc.

The weirdest thing was no tuxes worn by the servers on formal night. I asked Fitz about that and he said it was because they do the rotation menu that night. They don't wear them at all on the Fantasy 7-night cruises.

That is surprising about the tuxes on formal night. Looking forward finally experiencing the differences on the Fantasy. It is pretty exciting to be going on a trip that will be a new adventure.

Also, how hard is it to find a staff photographer to shoot the family group? |

Some go all out and some don't. If you want to do so, you won't be the only ones by any means. There are photographers out every night before and after both dinner seatings.
