We LOVE Deck 2! We do avoid the far Aft (back of the ship) cabins because of engine/mechanical noise issues. There are also some that have nightclubs directly above them that you might want to avoid. Just take a look at the deck plans to see what is above you. If it is not one of the nightclubs you should be fine.

We were deck 2 aft on the Magic and found the noise from the engines only really noticeable on the nights we were really moving fast - i.e. the first night out of port and for us the second last night on our way from Mexico to CC. I won't sugar coat it though - it was definitely noticeable that you were on a lower deck!

We were "upgraded" years ago to deck 2 and I'd never sail on deck 2 again. The noise IS awful IMO. We also feel disconnected from everything going on.

Our fav decks are 6/7.

Everyone is different. We have sailed on all decks and Deck 2 is one of our favorites on the Magic.

Never felt it was too far away from anything at all. It is so convenient to everything.

We have heard engine noise/vibration on many decks, not just Deck 2.

Totally agree MJ. We sailed on deck 2 on both the Magic and Wonder, loved it! No noise miship or forward.

We spent 25 consecutive nights on deck 2 of the Magic in 2011. One minor stateroom problem was repaired when we reported it; otherwise no issues at all. We found it to be a great location. OK, my knees won't handle that many stairs if I'm going to the pool deck, but that's why there are elevators. It is very convenient to GS and restaurants as well as shops and theaters.

NO noise problems--we were midship.

We spent 14 nights on Magic - deck 2 forward. No issues - it was nice and quiet. Cabin 2010 to be exact, which was longer than normal cabins because of the curvature of the bow at that point. Have mother-in-law booked on deck 2 this year as well.

Maybe certain areas of deck 2 are more prone to noise? Under the kitchen, or above the aft engines (or whatever it is that can make noise to power the ship). Of course we have been on an upper deck at aft of ship and heard noise, but not anything to deter from the vacation experience.

I sailed the Wonder in April on deck 2 midship....I never had any noise issues and quite enjoyed my stay.

No problems, whatsoever!

Cheers,
Josh

We spent 7 nights in cabin 2024 (on the Wonder) and had zero problems with noise. I would definitely book this room again. It was very handy to have the adult area one floor above us and the WD Theater and gift shops just 2 floors above. Our deck 8 cabin was noisier!

We've only cruised on deck 2 of the Magic (and the Wonder). Totally agree that it's a great location.

We've been in the aft, forward and midship.

Nope. Was stuck on deck 2 on the Magic. Noise was awful. Never again. Seriously. It was room 2628.

Stayed on deck 2, two years in a row in the forward most cabin. Loved it!!!! Only real noise issue was coming into or leaving a port and the use of the bow thrusters. Would never hesitate to stay on that deck on the classic ships. Actually staying on deck 2 on our upcoming Fantasy cruise this February.
