Game/Craft ideas for an 11 year old Mexican/Fiesta themed party
Can I ask my fellow Disers for some help with my daughters party next Saturday?
So far we will have a cactus cake, a taco bar and a piñata! We are big on theme parties - but for some reason we are at a loss for ideas with this idea! |

This sounds like a great idea for a party! I would probably add tortilla chips, salsa, and cheese dip to the menu. You can even put the bowl of dip in a sombrero.
Maybe there is a Mexican craft that they could make. As for games, here are a couple: WORD FIND Take a Mexican, Fiesta or Cinco de Mayo related word such as guacamole or festival. Challenge the children to find as many little words as they can. Example: Guacamole Words: came, come, me, am, game, gem, cue, male, meal, mole, mule, ace, camel, coal, lag, camel, go, goal, coal, etc. ESTIMATION: HOW MANY BEANS IN THE JAR? Need: Large glass jar filled with a variety of beans Small pieces of paper Sombrero (if available) Pencil 1. Have children write their name and guess on a small piece of paper. 2. Have them place the number of beans guess in a container or sombrero. 3. The correct of closest guess is the winner |

have a sombrero ....each person places it under the chin as it is passed, if you drop it (music on of course) your out, last one wins a prize??
The others are adult drinking games ![]() The taco bar and candy bar sounds FUN.... What about a photo booth instead of a craft..?? You can get a LARGE refrig box and decorate it with Mexican Theme items on the outside, side "door" is left open...Then each person takes a pix with the Bday girl and you can also use that when you send thank you's. The photo booth was a HUGE success at a party I did...we had a candy theme, but Im sure that the Mexican theme decorations and bright colors... would be just as fun,..... perhaps even some fun straws (with funny mustaches glued on them) and a sombrero as a prop so the girls can take silly pix??? Have a fabulous birthday celebration and HAPPY BDAY to your daughter.. THEME parties are awesome.... sorry i tried to get a pix, but was unable to load it.. If you google it, there is one that says sweet treats on it, we used that one as our inspiration and it worked very well as far as the set up and stability...The design/colors will make it spectacular, and your theme is excellent with the bright colors etc...

Cascarones would be a fun craft! http://pbskids.org/zoom/activities/do/cascarones.html Prep by hollowing and dying the eggs before the party.

Oh thank u! Great ideas! Keep em coming!
Thought about a photo booth - but the party she went to this Saturday had one and she doesn't want to "copy"! Jim was going to try - if he had time - to write a program - where you take a photo and then it makes it into one of those Old West wanted posters. |

Paper flowers:
http://www.dltk-holidays.com/spring/...lower_vase.htm You might try searching for Cinco De Mayo craft ideas, then choose those that appeal to your D, and fit the budget. |

I was also thinking of paper flowers
![]() Basic yarn god's eye style crafts would be good too. Have luminaries (paper or tin can) for decor, or make them to take home.
