Question about post-cruise resort stay - The DIS Discussion Forums

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered but I tried searching the threads and couldn't find the answer. Probably wasn't using the right key words!

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom resort after our cruise. I know we won't be able to check in right after arrival because it'll be too early. I also think we might want to relax a little and not run right off to parks. Are we able to use resort amenities (mainly the pool. .. .) while we wait to check in? Please forgive my ignorance . . . .

Thanks for your quick reply! I figured I would try here first since so many people do the resort before or after the cruise. If I don't get one I'll try over there.

We did the exact same thing in May when we came off the Disney Fantasy. We checked into AKL Jambo House, room wasn't ready so we changed into bathing suits in the bathroom, bell services held our luggage, and we went to Kidani Village to play in the water area and pool. Got a text our room was ready went to the room, called for our luggage and got ready at DTD for dinner. It was a very pleasant experience.

Yes, you can use the pool. They will notify you when your room is ready. Your room might be ready early too, you never know!
