I thought this thread was about a twelve year old not wanting to ride a roller coaster.

Ok, I call troll. You deliberately misrepresented the statements to continue the argument.

As to the poster who was surprised about colleges having coed bathrooms, it really depends on the college. Some separate girls and boys by building, some by floor, some just by room which is how it was at the university I attended. One year, we actually voted on whether we should designate one of the floor bathrooms for girls and one for boys or keep them coed. We voted to separate, and guess what, most of those voting for separate were girls

What the heck happened here?

To those wondering, the OP has come back and posted she has decided to leave her DD12 while she goes on the ride. Her DD is more than okay with it. She will have a cell phone with her.

I think they are ridiculous. And I have every right to find them irritating just as anyone has a right to have a personal pet peeve about anything. So when you drag your 10 year old in the ladies room I won't be uncomfortable but I will think YOU are stupid and roll my eyes!

And that's certainly your right to feel that way. Its subjective of course (overprotective is defined differently by different people), but its your right to feel that way.

Gotcha! Everybody's different.

Ummmm, 202 posts at this point, and a lot of them on this thread -
maybe Melodious is right!!

I, for one, do not like to see any boy in the women's restroom beyond about 5 years (even some that age bother me). That's why they make companion restrooms if there is a need to bring the opposite sex child in with them, right?? I sure would be *very* uncomfortable if there was a 10 yr up boy in there
