Home Heating Oil

Who else here uses home heating oil? I just ordered today at $3.599/gallon. I'm so glad Winter waited a while to get here. I had called in October and it was nearly $4/gallon.

The lady at the oil company said they didn't even offer Summer Specials this past year because oil prices were higher than they'd been over the Winter. She said it was lower today than it was last week (I was just glad my oil held out this long ).

Have you ordered lately? How much per gallon did you pay?

Wow that's a great price. We keep our heat set on 66 or 67 (it's just the two of us), and we have a woodburning stove, so it lasts quite a while for us, too.

We got "topped off" at the end of November- 104 gallons (275 gallon tank). It was $3.47/9 a gallon then.

We are on auto-delivery, but they don't do price lock-ins. Not sure when our next delivery will be- but we have about 1/2 a tank left right now.

I can't wait until it gets warm and stays warm. We shut down our oil boiler and our electric hot water tank takes over for the warm weather months.

Oil is freaking expensive. Had I known it would go up this much, we would have converted to natural gas when we replace our boiler 10 years ago. Back then, oil was $1.something a gallon! Times sure have changed!
