Why do you want to be on the Mom's Panel?

So, lately I've been reading up on and learning about the Disney Moms Panel, including all the posts here about it. And, Wow! It sounds like an awful lot of time and work you would have to regularly put in if selected to be on the panel. Almost like a second job. And from what I understand, your compensation is a one week paid trip to Disney, which doesn't seem like much for all the work you do. But in reading all your posts, I am so amazed at how passionate and determined you all are to be a part of it and how important it is to you. So I'm curious, why do you all want to be on the panel?

I wouldn't do it personally. They are basically working a full time job for free. And a TON of the info they give out is wrong. So they aren't the experts they claim to be most of the time.

Spend a few days reading questions and answers given and it will drive you nuts how much stuff they tell that is wrong.

And the bad thing is a majority of the ppl asking these questions are ppl who have never been to Disney before so they are getting told misinformation and may never find this message board to get good info.

But ppl seem almost desperate to be a part of it. I don't understand it myself.

I wouldn't call myself passionate about getting on the panel, so maybe I'm not quite the type you have in mind.

I'm a SAHM with enough time on my hands that the commitment isn't daunting, I'm a quick reader/writer, and I think the training trip itself is enough compensation to make it worth my while. I think the experience would be fun, and since I do a little travel writing it would look good as a credibility boost when pitching Disney-related articles to more selective publications.

I think a lot of DISers are passionate about becoming Moms' Panel members in part because we would give the right answers.
