Characher dining menu prices for children

I'm hoping someone can answer this.

My family has the dining plan but we are going with another family that does not. One of the people is an 11 year old girl who would rather eat the items off the kids menu.
Does anyone know if WDW is flexable with their 3-9 age limit for the kids menu?

Do you mean buffet/all you can eat meals? If so, the price is based on age but anyone can eat any of the food offered at the buffet. An 11-yo will be charged the adult price regardless of what they eat.

What about at non-buffet restaurants, such as Akershus Royal Banquet Hall? The kids menu is definatly more appealing for someone her age and who doesn't eat a lot.

Akershus is also a fixed price meal. She can probably order off the kids' menu, but I expect they will still charge the adult price.

1) Supposed to be no flexibility.
2) I have heard differently, but actually don't know the people involved.
3) So, to me, it is just hear-say.
4) Be prepared to pay adult prices.
5) Then, be happy if they allow kid's rates.

An 11 year old will pay the adult price at any character meal. No, they are not flexible about the price. I've heard of waiving the price if the child sleeps through the meal, but never if it's claimed that they don't eat enough to justify the adult price.

If the meal has a children's menu (buffets and many family style places don't) she may be able to order food from that menu, but will pay the adult price.
