Car hire in Hawaii - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi all,

We're heading off to Aulani next month and have a little question re car rental companies. Is there a rental company which actually has the cars at terminal or do they all have desk at terminal then shuttle to cars?

It has been four years since I rented a car at the Honolulu airport, but at that time you had to take a shuttle to the rental cars for all the companies (even those with check-in desks in the terminal). I used the 'off-site' Thrifty location and it was about 3-4 minutes by shuttle. Check-in was quick and I made it back to the terminal just after my family came outside with the luggage.

Somehow we're already back

from the most amazing trip to Aulani... and good news - there are rental cars located at the airport so no need for a shuttle to collect your car!

The rental desks are less than a 5 minute walk from the terminal and the cars are there just waiting for you! Mind you for some reason there is a shuttle if you need one!!!
