On the Captain's Gala night, I know lobster is offered as a meal option in the main dining rooms. Is it offered at Cabana's that night also? Thanks in advance!

I can't answer the question about whether it's in Cabanas, but I wanted to point out that the lobster isn't steamed. And it's not Maine lobster. DH, who is a great lover of lobster, doesn't like how this lobster is done.

Sad, but true. I'll eat lobster in any way, shape, or form, but the lobster on the Fantasy in Nov was just meh.

The lobster on the Fantasy on the MV was also bleh and tough. We have enjoyed it very much on all of our cruises on the Magic & Wonder and were amazed at how it always came out perfectly. Maybe it's because they have to prepare more on the larger ships, but the timing is definitely off. :P

That's why I'm asking. My DH will eat lobster of any kind, and my DS (5) said he doesn't want to go on the cruise unless there's lobster.

I'm not a big fan of baked lobster and the other choices don't seem too appealing to me. I'm trying to talk my DH and DS out of eating in the main dining room that night and trying to see if I can at least get my 5 year old (with expensive taste) his lobster!

What were you hoping eat in cabanas? It's completely possible you could still get that in the MDR.

That's because it's not a big deal. There is a reception in the atrium where you can shake hands with the officers, have a photo with the captain, and if you are fortunate enough to run down one of the servers, you can even get a free beverage. Then you go to dinner. It is basically just the title of the menu that night. This is one of the 4 theme nights on a 7 night cruise.

I think it's a HUGE deal... won't say more, though.

Isn't the meet and greet and photos the Captain's Reception, usually on formal night? And the Captain's Gala is just what they call semi-formal night, which is the night they serve lobster?
