Lightbulb Wilderness lodge honeymoon room w/ club level

For our honeymoon we will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Honeymoon Suite w/ Club Level; just got 20% room discount from Disney which is a huge savings

1. I know there are 4 honeymoon rooms, is there one to recommend?
2. Do honeymoon rooms have refridgerators and microwaves?
3. Do you have a private check-in if staying club level?
4. What exactly does the itinerary planning office and club level office at Wilderness Lodge do extra for you?
5. What other extra services do you get with club level?
6. Last question, what are the food offerings at Old Faithful Club?

Hi there
We stayed in the honeymoon "suite" during the second half of our honeymoon in 2011, so I can answer this for you!

I tried to research the room before we booked it, but found limited info and mixed reviews. I will give you mine though:

1. I cannot remember the number of our room 7069 maybe??? We booked an "MK view" as our room request. I know there are 4 in total-two of which have a little bit of a view. We were in the view room-from the balcony, you can see the monorail & the Contemporary & we were able to watch the higher fireworks from Wishes, which was pretty nice. It's not much of a view & we really needed to look through our zoom in the camera to see well, but it was still better than no view & a nice little treat.

2. The honeymoon room had a fridge but no microwave.

3. Check-in was really nice-same as anyone staying club level. A really nice woman met us outside and escorted us upstairs. We checked in on the CL floor and one of the CM's gave us a tour of the lounge and then to our room.

4. We utilized IPO quite a bit and they were really nice and helpful. They will book ADR's & shows for you (though we chose to book ours ourselves), & also if you want to order something from Disney floral/gifts. We mostly contacted them to ask them questions related to the resort and also special resort events because we were there for Christmas.

5. Not really a "service" but you do get a fabulous view on your floor. The 7th floor is the highest up and you get a gorgeous view of the lobby and of the pool and lake. It's really nice and cozy to sit or snack & enjoy the views. You get access to the lounge foods, which was nice. Other than that and booking ADR's/shows, I cannot recall any other service different from non-CL rooms.

6. Food offerings vary from week to week, but we really liked the food at the Old Faithful Club. When we were there, Breakfast offerings consisted of cereals, oatmeal, various juices, mini bagels, toast, mini muffins, juices, coffee, and a cappuccino machine. Snacks consisted of handmade chips and a nice ranch style dip, gummy candy, soft cookies, various sodas, I think a snack mix. Dinner offerings consisted of veggies and hummus, cheeses and crackers, a really yummy chili, beef stew, meatballs, chicken skewers, I can't remember the other appetizers but we really enjoyed all of them. They also had fruit cobbler.

I have to just warn you though, the honeymoon "suite" is not a "suite"-it's a room. It actually seemed a bit smaller than regular rooms, but that could have just seemed that way because the layout is different. It has a king-sized bed, which was nice, but it seemed rather cramped to us. I also did not care for the decor, which seemed much plainer than regular rooms. The balcony was big enough to sit out there in chairs, but I was told the two rooms on the opposite side had smaller balconies. The bathroom had a jacuzzi which was really nice, but overall we were not impressed with the room. We had just transferred there from a Poly CL non-suite room which was ALOT bigger and nicer themed, in comparison to the WL one.

We also preferred the cast members and overall service at the Poly CL. Service was fine at the WL CL -cast members were polite, but we just got alot more "pixie dust" at the Poly Club Level. Cast members were more smiley & friendly, we got unique towel animals every day, congrats wherever we went, etc... we just felt like they went the extra mile at the Poly.

We don't regret staying at the WL club level-we stayed there during Christmas & it was really special to be there at that time. Food at the lounge was great, the resort itself was decorated so beautifully, & I have wonderful memories of drinking Kalhua & milk and listening to the carolers sing Christmas songs around the enormous tree, from the 7th floor looking down, on Christmas Eve. But had we toured the honeymoon room in advance, I think we would have opted to save a few bucks and stay in a regular club level room with a view at the WL instead. The honeymoon room was not worth the money to us-you might feel differently though.

Anyways, I am just checking my computer to find photos of the honeymoon room if you want to see. If I find them, I will post them.

I hope this helps!!!

I'm happy to help Instead of calling them, you should email IPO with your room request-it's more reliable.

I'm just uploading my pics and then I will post some!

"MK View"

Here was the view from the balcony of our honeymoon room. Not much, but being able to see the higher up fireworks was a nice little bonus:

And the view of the lobby from the CL lounge:

Aristocatz since you have such great insight in to honeymoon room club level at Wilderness Lodge and since you got married in Disney World; could you please read my honeymoon itinerary thread and give your thoughts and suggestions? We will not be getting married in DW but honeymooning there. The link to the thread is below.

Honeymoon room fireworks view from balcony

Here are some of Wishes from our balcony. Sorry, the fireworks pics are not the greatest, as we don't have a great camera but you get the idea & you can see which ones were zoomed in and which ones were as is....

View of the CR from the balcony:

Fireworks while standing on our balcony:

My DH is uploading our actual photos of the honeymoon room, so I will post them once they are done!

Space Mountain:

Contemporary Resort:

Grand Floridian:

Monorail/Space Mountain:

A few more pics of food from the CL lounge:
