At Planet Hollywood there is the Earl of Sandwich, food is awesome for the sandwiches. The Buffet is excellent there! The wicked spoon is really good. The Rio Buffet is also excellent food! Remember to wear comfortable shoes, everything may look close , but it is not.

There are ticket booths on the strip for discounted rates. If you feel walking is to much, you can ride the duece bus for 7 dollars for 24 hours. It goes up and down the strip as well as to the old part on freemont st. The way to sometimes cut down on costs for the buffets is to go in the afternoon before dinner time. Then you can always snack in the evening.

There is a ton of shopping to be had. Take the camera. Sometimes there are coupons for the buffets just by typing it in. I found one for 5 dollars for everyone in our group. Every little bit helps. The Bellagio has a huge chocolate fountain that is picture worthy and a nice bakery to go with it. So much to list. You will have a great time!

Get on the website right away and see if you can book a room at the Canyon. Much better to stay on site there. One time we were able to upgrade while there to the El Tovar even though everything was showing full previously but even our room at the basic lodge ( can't remember the name) was ok. The food court there was pretty good too if you don want all full service meals.

The ranger programs are great and FREE. Check the schedule...some are nighttime inside, others are walking tours. If you like to hike check out the South Kaibob trail. It's a little off the beaten path (so not crowds of people on it) with spectacular views.

My wife and I went to Vegas (1st time) last month for the National Finals Rodeo. We had a rent car so we were able to drive around and see alot. We also spent a day ay Hoover Dam and had lunch in Boulder City at the Southwest Diner (we loved this little place).
We are not gamblers either but seeing all the lights and casinos was really fun. We did not go to the Canyon so can't comment on that.
We stayed at the Luxor and would not reccommend it. We loved Ceasars Palace and the Venetian. We saw Terry Fador one night and he was hilarious!!
I made a short video of our trip and the link is below. There is some rodeo footage about half way but only last a few minutes. The rest is all Vegas. I ended it with the water show at the Bellagio. I am going to make a seperate video of Hoover Dam experience.
Enjow the Sinatra and Elvis tunes and I hope this gets you even more excited about going!! Watch it in HD

I have the condo booked and the flights, what I need it tips on getting good prices on food and entertainment. We are not gamblers but love to go to shows. My hubby lives good food. Any help?

We are only renting a car for the last 3 days to go to the Grand Canyon and back. Any tips?

I am so out of my element. Usually, I plan, plan, plan.....this was so last minute. We booked our flights yesterday. HELP!!!
Oh fun!!! I will be there the same time as you.

I think people have already given you some great advice on where to look for deals. What kind of food do you like? On almost every visit, we do make reservations at a good steak house (either SW in the Wynn or Smith and Wollensky on the strip by MGM). But both are pretty pricey.
It seems like some of the other restaurants that we have liked have come and gone though.

For entertainment, you can't beat the Cirque shows. Our other favorite hangout is the Bar @ Times Square in NYNY (we love the dueling pianos there on the weekends). Our trips usually involve seeing one concert also. Last time it was Elton John. This time we are taking my Mom on our annual trip to see George Strait (her favorite).

For transportation, how far away from the strip is your condo (and do they offer a shuttle service)? It might be worth looking into keeping the rental car longer if you will need to depend on cabs to get to the strip/downtown, etc.

unless you are hikers, I would consider going to Sedona and staying the night after the grand canyon. It's so beautiful there.and not TOO much further

My favorite breakfast is the buffet at Paris. Time it right late morning and pay breakfast prices and get breakfast the first go round and then lunch as they change over. I'm NOT a buffet person but this is a favorite.

For a great burger place, check out The Burger Bar between Mandalay and Luxor. It's a nice change of pace from fine dining.

For something different to do, check out the art museum at the Bellagio. the exhibit changes every few months and it takes about 90 minutes to see. It's a nice calm break and not overwhelming for non-art lovers.

My favorite show in Vegas would be "O" at Bellagio. I have seen Love and Mystere as well, both great, but "O" blew me away!

Look to see headliners performing the week you are there. You can see some great comedians, I saw Jay Leno once and he was hysterical.

And I haven't seen Celine yet, but I am going to next month. I can't wait to see her show. Other than the price of her tickets (ouch!) I haven't heard a bad word about it.

As for food. I am not a buffet person, but I did do the Buffet of Buffets once and I have to say you do get your monies worth. It is a 24 hour pass to many of the buffets on the strip. It does include some of the best too: Paris, Rio, and PH. You can always find coupons online for the buffet of buffets too!

Here is a link to the Buffet of Buffets 24 hour pass:

http://www.caesars.com/total/las-veg...et-of-buffets/

If you like Korean food there is an AWESOME place inbetween PH and MGM tucked back behind a strip mall. It's called Ginseng. Delish!

For a real steal, try Ellis Island behind Bally's. They have a $6.99 steak special that includes salad, steak, baked potato, green beans, roll, and one of their microbrews (or house root beer) it is a bargain! It's not the finest steak you'll ever have, but it is pretty tasty. They also have a BBQ pit that I hear is fantastic, but I've never gone. Locals come to this place too, so it can get busy.

We were in Vegas in November and saw Cirque's new show-Zarkana. It plays at The Aria resort-amazing place to walk around. You have Aria and the Cosmopolitan next to each other. You can see la Reve at the Wynn-think Cirque with water and high diving. Amazing. Walk around the Wynn lobby-breathtaking flowers and pool area and shops! Next door is the Encore-also breathtaking inside. There is a free water show at the Wynn at their outdoor waterfall. It runs very 30 minutes and each show is different. We love the restaurants at the Wynn. For the discerning palate, try Joel Rubichon's signature restaurant at the MGM. Very pricey. YOu can also see KA at the MGM. My husband loves the Atomic Testing Museum in town-very interesting. We also love to visit American Restoration shop where they film the show, as well as the pawn shop where Pawn Stars is filmed.
