What activities should we book early? Plus other questions....

I am new to all this. First time cruise on the Dream in March and the deadline for early booking of activities is coming up. I already know about booking onshore adventures; however, what other activities should we be considering booking on the ship early?

Also, do you need to make reservations for the kids to visit the Disney Oceaneer Club & Lab? Is this a drop-off service?

Thanks in advance!!!

You need to register the kids in order to drop them off at the Oceaneer Lab/Club. You can do that onboard or at the port before boarding; no need to do it early. The Lab/Club is a drop-off service, you'll check the kid(s) in, and they will remain in the Lab/Club until you pick them up. There is no additional fee for that service and you never need reservations - you can drop them off any time the Lab & Club are open (which is almost all day every day except for while the ship is docked at Castaway Cay).

If you want any spa activities or adult dining (Remy or Palo), you should book those when your booking window opens as well. Since you're a first-time cruiser, your booking window opens after returning cruisers and there may be limited options for some spa activities or dining experiences, and some excursions may also be fully booked (though aside from Castaway Cay cabanas which will almost certainly be sold out, I'm not sure anything really will be fully booked), so you may want to have backup choices handy.

You can pre-register for the Club/Lab when you do online booking, but unlike the nursery there is no need to sign-up for specific times. They are welcome there anytime - they'll get a wristband either in the terminal or at the Club/Lab when you first visit during Open House. If you have a younger child in the nursery, you will want to reserve nursery hours in advance though it can be changed and usually added to once onboard.

Port adventures, spa services, BBB (on the Fantasy) and Palo/Remy can all be booked at your online booking date. Other than some of the port adventures, you can usually make reservations onboard for many of these activities as well if you can be flexible with date/time.

Enjoy your cruise!
