Departing from Port of Los Angeles ??'s - The DIS Discussion Forums

I have a few questions for those of you who have cruised out of the Port of Los Angeles.

We will be arriving at LAX the night before our cruise, we plan to stay at a hotel in San Pedro. What is the best way to get from LAX to San Pedro. I haven't found any San Pedro hotels that mention transportation from the airport.

I am also finding that car seats are mandatory in California even in taxis, limos,etc. If you traveled with children, did you take your car seats or did you find car services that provided them? I'm not relishing the idea of transporting and storing 2 car seats on the cruise.

Last question, any recomendations on accomidations in San Pedro?

How old and heavy/tall are your kids? Law here is any child under the age of 8 needs to be in a booster at least. Only way out of that one is if they are over 4/9" high. I know in FL people have said they've had no issues getting cabs, etc who have boosters and seats in the trunk. You may want to call taxi/car services in the area and check if they have child seats and, if so, what types and do a reservation WITH those seats.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro. Nice place.

Doubletree in San Pedro is nice, and they have a shuttle. We booked our shuttle time when we arrived. It will also take you anywhere else you want to go- Target, out for dinner. You just call and they'll send it back to pick you up.
