Magic Med cruise and dry dock

Ok I have booked the August 24th Med cruise and was so excited about taking my kids ( we did the Med 2 years go and they have been despite to go back). Then I read in here that Magic would be dry docked one cruise later ie we get off, there is one more week cruise then dry dock. The person posting said about how there was plywood down, things were being ripped up, etc. my question is will this happen on our cruise or only on the one a week later? Am really worried nw that I should have booked earlier in the summer but I have booked flights now so it would cost a lot to change. Just wondering if anyone has been of cruise the week before the week before dry dock and how they found it. My kids get to go on DCL so rarely I know they would find some of the magic gone if it was being ripped up around them. Thanks

You should be fine.

I was on the Magic the last cruise before a major dry dock, where they expanded the fitness center over the bridge. Upon boarding, I saw no sign of prep work being done. But as the cruise progressed, work became obvious.

You will see touchup work being done just about every cruise with painting or other repairs. It is the cruises after drydock that will notice the biggest difference with all of them in the past reporting work continuing during the first cruise or two. When the spa was redone the equipment was put elsewhere for guests to use while the area was being finished. One year the water had been turned off for too long and the pools were filled with brown water.
