Burnout....

Can you burnout on cruising? We did our first DCL cruise to Alaska in 2011, a Caribbean cruise in 2012 and have plans for two more this year in May and July. I have a pseudo- dummy trip booked for Thanksgiving this year. Now with the impending release of the rest of 2014, I am waiting to see if the Baltics are part of the plan. If so, then I am all over it. However, DH says that we should take "a break" from Disney and do something else. Huh?!!!! Well, this IS from a man who took 6-9 months of convincing/cajoling before he'd agreed to a DCL cruise. Once we were on board, he was the one who wanted to wait in line to book another one. I am just hoping that the magic doesn't wear off from all these cruises!

We just started cruising in 2008, and have been on 8 cruises (not all DCL) thus far. We have already got tentative plans for at least 7 more cruises in the next 3-4 years. Burnout? I don't think so.

We burned out. We did 5 cruises from 2000-2003 when our kids were young, and then took a long break. That was before all of the cool new itineraries. Our next cruise was the inaugural Baltic cruise in June 2010 to celebrate our kids HS graduation. Then The Wonder MR cruise in April 2012, which was the first of 5 in less than 12 months, so the burn out was temporary.

We are thinking about trying another cruise line just to see the difference, but not planning to stop cruising DCL. Celebrity looks interesting.

Burnout.... not us Just the opposite we can't wait for our next cruise.

We've done 9 Disney cruises, with 3 more scheduled & waiting on the rest of 2014. We've also sailed on Celebrity, RCCL & HAL

I agree with the PP all the great port Disney goes to now makes it easy to keep re-booking with them.

We have done 5 since 2002.
Only on the Magic and Wonder.
I am trying to get 6 & 7 booked for this fall.

We thought about trying another cruise line for Alaska and I just can't do it.
I know what we have with Disney and I am extremely happy with their classic ships.

Burn Out, not hardly

My DW and I took 4 cruises in 2011, 4 in 2012, and have our first of 3 for 2013 in 5 days. However, we have not really set anything in stone for me or my DW's 50th birthdays this year. Love the new itineraries and the Galveston port gives us more opportunity to cruise from closer to home and cheaper! Ready for the new Diamond Level to come out!

After 50+ cruises - not yet.
We are going to try Disney this year.
With so many lines, and so many ships, and so many ports - I cannot belive that we will burn out any time soon. Money may burn out, but not the sea.

My grandmother once complained about living out of a suitcase (6 wks in europe followed by a 2-wk cruise home on the Queen Mary -- such a hardship.) But truthfully, I'm beginning to understand. Packing is tedious, and TSA is a hassle. oh darn. The things we have to put up with. Should i just stay home? not a chance.

I suppose it happens to somebody - but not to us. We've done 4 DCL cruises in the past year (I just retired) and have our next one booked for May.

I would NEVER burn out because what is not to love about someone else making your bed, your food and keeping our kids happy!! DH is the rate limiting factor.... The only issue we may have is the redundancy in some of the itineraries. Here's hoping for some fun new places.

I can't picture myself ever burning out on Disney vacations but my family is taking our first Disney cruise in 19 days and my husband is already over it. Maybe he's just sick of hearing me talk about it and plan it and obsess over it.

I guess it's possible. We cruised almost every year in the earl 80's. Due to kids and lack of money went from 1988 to 2002 without a cruise. Cruised in 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2012. We'd cruise every year if we had the money.

We have done 9 Disney cruises over the past 6 years. Sometimes I do feel burnt out since packing for 6 is alot of work. After we have been home for a week or two I am ready to go again!
